Hi, I have over the last couple of years updated my system and now have a Spectral SDR-400SL cdplayer, and a DMC-30Sc preamp and my original DMA-90 amp. I have Sonus Faber Amator Electa ( the original) speakers. I am starting to think about whether it is time to upgrade my amp and was wondering what used models I should consider. I don't have $10,000 to spend. Is the DMA-200S worth considering?
I think the DMA-90 is a superb amp, at least with the Sonus Fabers, but wonder if it can hold up its end given the improvements in the top end.
Thanks,
Arthur

It might be worth it but you seem satisfied with your amp. I would enjoy what you have.

There is a 200S series 2 that might have some of the changes post 260 amp release. It’s hard to say without side by side comparisons.

I personally like the DMA 90 a lot. I just don't have one as I gave mine to my sister. If you have not experimented with power cords and Center Stage footers yet, I think you will have more improvement trying after market power cords such as an old MIT AC 2 and installing Center Stage footers than acquiring a DMA 200S.

I am using an MIT Oracle Z-III power cable. Where do I buy the Center Stage footers ?

Please contact our own Steve Williams in this forum. He is the Center Stage footer seller.

@asamuelson I assume you have the current DMC-30SC that is still in production? If so, I'd see if you could find a DMA-240. A dealer demo that perhaps is selling for the DMA-250 S3 (Current model)

As much as I like Spectral, It's very hard to ascertain their naming convention. A higher number doesn't necessarily mean better but, another member posted in another thread @dan31 I believe.

Spectral releases a new amp to replace an older one when a part is no longer available. Rather, then a generational improvement.
