only heard one at a show; last year's Axpona in the Acora room. but was very impressed as far as one can be in a show system. it was telling when it was A/B'd with the digital in the room. whoa. lot's of money but from that sample it seems to deliver at a very high level. but how very high? no way to know.
we don't often hear $200k+ tt's at shows. but a year later i still clearly remember it and my reaction. easily the best thing i heard at that show.
Lorenzo room was using SAT tt in the last Munich high end show, the demonstration was really good, but I can’t tell how much the SAT tt and arm were responsible for the end result.
Heard SAT turntable and tonearm several times, a friend of mine actually bought one with CF-9 Ti arm. I can say it is one of the best vinyl playback combo in the market.
SAT turntable matches well with its tonearms. As a direct drive TT, the sound is direct and strong while SAT tonearms are carbon fibre based which have a softer, more mellowing character. They are perfect match.
This is, without a doubt, just about the most controversial turntable I’ve read about. From what I gather it is, at the end of the day, a very heavily hod rodded Technics whereby the motor has been rehoused with some pretty impressive materials science. But is this really THAT BAD? Remember the Phillips airpax was used in the likes of Linn, Townshend, Roksan and Pink Triangle. The difference being the eye watering price… I wonder how many have heard the deck or have a theoretical ideology either way
