Thanks, your point is well taken! I think it fair to say that that could be said about just anybody when compared to Stanley. He was an authentic virtuoso in every sense of the word. His recording with Bernstein of the Nielsen Concerto on Columbia was done in ONE take! The Corigialno Concerto (commisioned by the NYPhil for him) is brutal and shows his virtuosity quite well. (Anyway, enough about clarinet layers! This is a "high end" audio group and we must not piss people off discussing othet topics.grin) BTW, Stanley told me that his favorite recording was the Bartok "Contrasts" with Robert Mann and Leonid Hambro, suppsedly recorded (mono only) early 1950s in Peter Bartok's apartment. Some in this group will recal that Bela's son, Peter was a successful recording engineer (Bartok Records).Drucker was a fabulous clarinetist. I always thought better than Tony Giglotti.
