How did we get a turntable that is bigger than a C-37?? What is that beast?

My guess is that it looks like a studio and maybe that's a transcription table to play back lacquers?
 
I think it looks like someone's home system and that looks like some sort of Manly phono section sitting under that massive table. Maybe the Chinook?
