I recently demoed a pair of biwire MB Reference 2 speaker cable and found it to be really good but out of my price range. I am looking to purchase a pair of 7 ft cables (Bi wire or regular) for my system with a budget of $2500. I am open to buying used. Suggestions are appreciated Thank you.

I'll encourage you to research Iconoclast cable's options. Their series 2 can either come in under your budget or exceed it by about 10-12%, depending on the core wire material. (Series 2, SPTPC looks like a hair over $2.8k in your length.)

I believe they offer demo cables you can try to see how you like them. Their products are great, the people in the company are a joy to work with, and the results - for me and others - have been outstanding.

I think they've started their own forums for discussion, but most of my exposure to online discussions - which prompted my trial use of their speaker cables and interconnects - came from the PS Audio forums. A quick web search should provide lots to read.

Ah ... cables!

Galen Gareis does frequent PS Audio. His Iconoclast cables are well liked. I have 5m pair of their basic 10AWG cables that cost $140 and they seem really good.

Speaker cables - the thicker the better. I've been happily buying UPOCC signal cables and @DaveC on this forum makes bespoke UPOCC cables. He does an 11AWG cable, here: https://zenwaveaudio.com/?product=scr-14-scr-11-upocc-copper-ribbon-speaker-cable

Well within your budget. I'd get in touch with him.

Starting to research now, thanks keep em coming lol!!

A third mention for Iconoclast. Flies under the radar but plays well above its price, IMO. If you’re in the States they’re easy to try, and return if you don’t think they’re what you’re looking for.

Grover Huffman Pharoah. 60 day trial. Ribbon silver/copper air dialectic.

You can audition cables until your ears bleed. My suggestion is to try a few 'industrial' cables -- wire without the word 'audiophile' attached -- these will be very inexpensve. If you don't find them off-the-rack, you can have them made in your length by someone like Markertek. This will give you a baseline against which you can asses what expensive cables are doing, then pick your personal level of cable coloration. A lot depends on what specific speaker and amp you connect -- there are no universal reccomendations.

To echo this, try very inexpensive bulk Duelund tinned copper, cotton insulation cables
Your search might end there
Mine did

Silent Source Music Reference is a fantastic cable on the used market and can be found at a reasonable price.

Best bet is the lowest resistance cable, so the fatist copper. Don't go for anything with a strange configuration like thin copper (higher resistance), widely spaced like DNM, those can upset some amplifiers (Naim comes to mind).

Quad famously demo'd quad IIs and ESL 57s with "lawnmower" cable, bog standard UK, 13A mains cable. Peter Walker's only stipulation for speaker cable was that it was long enough to reach the speakers.

Partial to Purist Audio and Townshend ribbon.
