A couple of weeks before the Russian Invasion, I purchase a pair Russian Meltz, old stock tubes from a Ukrainian Ebay seller. I finally got around to trying them out yesterday. After 5 minutes, I heard some crackling and shortly thereafter, one of the little tubes gave up the ghost. I messaged the seller just to let him know, not expecting or wanting anything. He wrote back within an hour apologizing and offered an immediate full refund. He added that he had to close his shop and move since the invasion.
Naturally, I'm not going to take him up on his offer and told him to just consider it a credit until things are better over there and he's back on his feet -- and wished him well. It just struck me as yet another example how extraordinary these people are under such duress.
