Hello all, first time poster here.

For years I have wanted the Vaughn Plasma Series speakers, but did not buy because the $20K price was too big a step. Well, I waited too long. Recently heard that the founder Jim Jordan died and his website is gone.

Can anyone suggest a website or a place to buy one?

Greg

PS I had an occasion to talk to Jim Jordan and he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Edited for grammar.

Until you mentioned it, I was unaware of Jim Jordan's passing. I was so saddened to hear of his loss to family, friends and the audio community.

I first met Jim Jordan around the CY2000 at his audio store in Indianapolis's Broad Ripple area. At the time including all of the audio hardware, he had a +$20k 50" plasma that I was mesmorized by -- my how times change!?!

I learned more from Jim about audio in a few years, than in the decades before.

Jim was an music/audio aficionado and hobbyist first and a store owner/salesman in name only. I bought several components from Jim, including my first PC Audio DAC, a Wavelength Brick. Jim was honest and objective while wearing his store owner/salesman hat! He became a friend as well as an audio mentor. I missed Jim when he moved from Indiana to California. And was happy knowing he returned to IN a few years ago.

I caught back-up with Jim at the 2012 RMAF in Denver. My son and I attended RMAF purposefully to listen to all of the speakers that we could. Knowing that Jim's sonic preferences and mine were similar, I knew that his Vaughn loudspeakers would be killer and they were. His and Gordon Rankin's (Wavelength Audio) room was one of my and my son's favorites. We went back there several times.

Speaking of Gordon Rankin, he may know something about whether any new inventory or pre-owned Vaughn speakers are floating around somewhere.

Jim was also the first one to alert me to a new product on the audio horizon, PC Audio. Apparently, he was aware of Gordon Rankin's immersion into creating a Computer-based DAC. As soon as I learned one was available, I ripped all of my CD's and I traded my Wadia CD Player for a Wavelength Audio Brick Silver and added a Macbook laptop as a music player and never looked back. Fun times!!!

I learned more from Jim about audio in a few years, than I had in the preceeding decades!

After Jim's move to CA, I caught back-up with him at the 2012 RMAF in Denver. My son and I attended RMAF purposefully to listen to all of the speakers that we could. Speaking of Gordon Rankin, he may know something about whether any new inventory (probably unlikely since there is no website) or pre-owned Vaughn speakers are floating around somewhere.

My belated and sincere condolences to any of Jim's family, associates and friends, who may chance upon this!!!
