Visit to Audiophile Bill to hear his horns project

Monica is aching to finally visit London again after missing London for (too many) years
There's...the Tower Of London, Buckingham Palace...the M&Ms flagship store Lol. Plenty of choice for the budding tourist.

Always thought London dungeon was the name for an audiophile man cave

... and you avoided my earlier question :p

Well, the spkr is able to be deconstructed, so yes, some of it. I do have a 1.3m x 0.6m access hatch as well. Good thing my Zus are in, spiral staircase and access hatch were no problem Lol.

Brad, I appreciate the sentiment.

Guys, I'm calling comments on me buying these as OT.

I have to relate to you all how absolutely superb these solid mahogany horns are. We're all aware of ABS plastic horns in AGs and Horns Universum, synthetic filled Cessaro horns, and laminated Animas horns. But I've never seen craftsmanship like the horns Bill has produced. I'll let him fill us all in on tech details, but this is genuine old school craftsmanship, a fully artisanal approach to effectively an heirloom product.
AND it sounds very special as well.

Ron, I did have Bill's tape measure out yesterday Lol.
I believe it's approx 5.5', maybe a little taller. I'm sure Bill can confirm.
Were you measuring the head on the beer :)

Marc surely Ra sleeps deeply enough to get a pair of these past and up through to the loft… where’s your sense of adventure

Objection your honor!
Please never mention the Universums Horns in the same sentence as the wobbly AG horns again when it comes to build quality because if you had ever knocked on an Universum Horn, you would know the huge difference o_O

If you say so, Christoph. For my tastes, I prefer to avoid plastic full stop. Others might disagree.

Wow… Thats a proper horn! Proportions are lovely and loving that detailing as well. Ripoles aren’t usually at all the prettiest of beasts (quite the opposite) but you’ve sculpted it into something very elegant. That’s quite a feat… just very cool. Completely love it, congratulations Bill,

Thank you very much, Graham. Really appreciate your kind comments! Means a lot especially from you.

Graham, what is smashing aesthetically about Bill's horns is how they have universal appeal. The kind of AG Duos form factor of reasonable streamline simplicity which means they'd fit nicely into a modern environment, while having enough of an artisanal/hand crafted wood finish with Vox Olympian type flourishes to complement a more traditional decor.
The split front baffle hides the Ripole configuration. My tt designer has made DIY spkrs w Ripole subs using a totally exposed open baffle structure, and it sounds fine but looks way too industrial for 99% of rooms.
Bill's solution is a very classy outcome.

It’s design is just really sophisticated Bill, the finessing of the edge angles on the folded bass panels… you can see how much work you’ve put into it. It’s so very finished and the larger horn proportions are just right for the bass ripole… I am way impressed. If it wasn’t for the current medical mayhem I’d be over to London to hear it in a shot. It is really cool.
