Hi everyone.

I've been using MBL6010D and am trying to find another pre-amp.
Can you plz suggest which one is better between Vitus SL 103 and CH L1 preamp.

For CH L1 I am considering using CH L1 only without X1 due to budget. (X1 can be added later)

Current power amp is TR type which is not Vitus nor CH.
It is another brand.

Would you plz share your experience or opinion ?

Thanks.

CH is in a different league to the Vitus IMO. When I had the Vitus on demo, it was easily beaten by a Bespoke Audio Passive Pre. I didn't have a direct compare at the time, but the CH would have been quite a way ahead of the Bespoke, and when you add in the X1, it is the best pre I have had in my system. I personally think the L1 is the star of the 1-series in CH's line-up.

Hi Pol,
Do not worry too much about the X1. Yes it does its work but You will not miss too much until You have one. Let's say, if L1 does 95 % of work, X1 does 5 %, or 90 /10 % max. Absolutely not 75 / 25 %..
I don't have experience with Vitus amplification except from audio shows and long listen to demo units in my local dealer. Though, Vitus is very good brand and I like their tone.
I have an L1 and a Robert Koda - Takumi K10. Although Takumi is a very neutral pre amplifier, L1 is way more neutral. Just have to warn You that; CH - Precision does what every producer claims to be doing: wire with gain. They are the most neutral electronics I have heard of and I have listened to a lot. My personal taste is that: if all system is CH, this neutrality makes listener feel like "lifeless, not musical" etc. That is what You would read about all and any CH equipment since our ears / brain is much more used to bas/mid to mid glorified sound. I find that pairing CH source (I have their dac and phono pre) and L1 to more 'American' character amplifiers, i.e. emphasis on bas/mid to mid makes a very good recipe.
Happy listening..

There is too much to think about cause neutral is also natural which is accepted easily by brain without second thoughts.

I feel like this about 1-series, as I don't think the A1 / M1 power amps imbue the music with enough dynamic energy. The 10-series solves this problem.

Thanks for your datailed explanation. I already bought L1 preamp. and quite satisfied. It sounds very naterual and gentle.

Yes totally, as brain gets used to neutral, then else sounds too colored.. But the transition period is where most give up and most dis CH Precision products for being "dull" or "lifeless".
