Wall Street Journal article on using a good DAC

Not a bad article but to leave out Benchmark is a bit of a crime.

I am actually trying a modified Havana...not a bad DAC at all!

Good question. I just feel that Benchmarks are a really good value. I have a DAC1 and it really sounds terrific. Musical but with lots of resolution.

Thanks for answering my question.

The Benchmarks may have been a good value when they were first introduced(I tried one in my system and returned it for a refund), but now, it's a very dated design. There are lots of new DACs that offer more value for less money, see:

If you're doing live to two track at 24/176, you need a DAC that can playback these files at their native resolution.

You don't need to spend a lot of money, here one for $349.:

Lee,
You should have added a smile to your post! :)
Almost every audiophile says he is immune to reviews and press, but when they forget or say bad things about our own toys it is always an hard stroke...
