My pleasure, Steve, and great to hear the DS is in hand! I'll keep you posted on the Monologue's arrival.

To be frank, optical cartridges had not been my cup of tea. IMHO they were clean, quiet and gave excellent performance in all hifi aspects.
However they couldn't "touch" my heart as much as the traditional cartridges.

I fully agree with this. I still like the DS Audio cartridges more than all but my favorite moving coil and moving iron cartridges, but I always felt there was something missing from the optical cartridges in the "musicality" department.

I had a fairly long talk with Angus about precisely this, and he basically agreed with me. But he said that his optical decoder recovers the musicality.

It will be very interesting to put this to the test as some of our people audition the WestminsterLab optical decoder.

Big congratulations, Angus and Gary, on Dave's review!!!

Well deserved Gary. I knew when I heard those REI amps and Quest in my system you had a game changer product. Nice to see young and innovative minds changing the status quo in our industry with products that are not only great to listen to but also at prices that must make the competition nervous

Bravo, sir, well written piece! Now the hardest part is to choose which cartridge....

Thanks for posting CK. You beat me too it again!
Dave McNair should be done with the DS Audio portion of the Monologue review soon.
