New Product Test: Ground Box Booster from Heartsound Audio

In addition to the fantastic, out of the signal path changes the Holostages made, I found the Ground Box Booster improves upon those, but also tightens everything up. Faster, more articulate bass from the REL, leading edge attack more pronounced, impossibly long decay is even longer, slightly more reverb resulting in an even better feel for the acoustics of the room in which the recording was made & overall more coherent presentation.
So overall you like the Ground Box Booster better than the active Synergistic ground block? How do the two directly compare in price/performance in your opinion?

That's a great question, but it's a difficult one for me to answer right now for several reasons.

For example, I have 10 Holostages scattered about (those little buggers are phenomenal), 1 Ground Box wired to the chassis screw of my Integrated & 1 Breaker Panel Box attached to the panel door. So, there's a lot going on.

The SR Active Ground Box is more versatile in that it can accommodate 20-30 ground wires. I forget the exact number. So, nearly everything that can be grounded is attached to it. That's a lot of expensive ground wires if you don't DIY.

In terms of performance, both ground boxes seem to lower the noise floor, enhance the bass, add body & clarity.

I believe SR & Heartsound Audio products are additive. For example, SR products seem to perform better the more SR products you have in your system. However, the HSA products may just interact with each other in a more audible way compared to the numerous SR devices I own.

That said, products from both companies seem to play well together. So, I believe your decision may come down to cost & scalability.

In fairness, I need to spend more time with the Holos, Ground Box Booster & Breaker Panel box before I can confidently render a final opinion. However, all early indications are the Heartsound products have made a more significant impact in terms of price/performance than the SR Active Ground Box.

But remember, I'm basing my opinion on the combined changes/ improvements to my system on the combination of several different Heartsound products working together versus one SR Active Ground Block, its power cord & ground wires.

One thing I can say with certainty is both companies offer a generous no questions asked trial period.

I'm planning to get the ground box when I get my next chunk of fun money. Also going to buy a few Sparko Op Amps and sniff some solder.

I found a great improvement using 2 ground wires (redundancy ) from A GBB. Not subtle. Give it a try. Different manufacturers and quite different lengths. Ab out triples the effect of the GBB.

Having some experience with her other products, I could totally see that happening just as you've said. Regardless it makes no sense whatsoever. But as Mark Twain said, "Truth is stranger than fiction, but it is because fiction is obliged to stick to possibilities; Truth isn't." I can't wait to try the GBB.

BREAK IN is real. 10 days.

No mention of a gnd box ...!
Exactly, I want to see the details of the product, specifications and various application. Ramblings/reviews on a forum from 3 or 4 people here are not cutting it. Also notice that I am only seeing these ramblings/reviews here, not on other forums. Lot's of work to be done before I shell out $1000.00 of my kids inheritance money (a pittance) on 4 black boxes. From what I am gathering some have an adhesive to stick to a breaker box, others have a ground jack to ground to your system.....

Sorry I am wrong found another forum that has a thread going and appears to be the same folks discussing it there also.
