First time contributor to this thread: Over the next weeks I will offer a few recommendations. I apologize if some of them have been here before - I have not reviewed every earlier page. I will try to include items that I regard as superb from a recording standpoint that must also be very finely performed. My first recommendation is one I doubt anyone has introduced before. It is from the Titanic Lp label. It is simply the purest, most transparent recording of a pianoforte I have ever heard, and one of the top five or so recordings, full stop. Sorry for cutting of the end of Mozart's name. I find this recording brings a sense of immediacy that I have rarely encountered. Regretfully, it's hard to find a copy.
I will figure out how to add my system details in the future. Suffice to say right now that I am listening through Alsyvox Tintoretto planar speakers fed by a New Audio Frontiers 845 SE amplifier, Backert Labs Rhythm 1.3 pre-amp and a Scheu or Audio Note CD front end.
This will be the second of my two recommended recordings from Titanic. In this case, two harpsichords. This is truly a demonstration Lp in terms of audio quality, but the playing is also outstanding. Just a wonderful record in every possible respect.
