A very enjoyable new addition to my music collection. Carlo Mannelli (1640-97) is extremely and undeservedly under-represented in the current catalogue of recorded Baroque music. I encourage anyone who loves music of this period to give it a try. It’s very well performed and recorded.

A lovely recording. I used to have several of these, but when I moved west, foolishly sold them. Bach famously walked several hundred kilometers to hear Buxtehude play the organ.

A fine album of Viola pieces by Rebecca Clarke, Hindemith, and Ernest Bloch. The Clarke viola sonata is the outstanding piece here I feel, and I’d say if you like Bloch there’s a strong chance you’ll enjoy Clarke’s piece which is very impressive.

Short and endearing live performance of works arranged for soprano and orchestra.
