What is new in my music library? (recent purchases I enjoy)

"With DIAMANTIK, MONDO SANGUE takes the audience into the dazzling, stylish world of the swinging sixties. The psychedelic pop-art adventure also delivers some border crossings: Eurospy, adventure and martial arts cinema meet beat, bossanova and disco. DIAMANTIK's daring escapades are told by means of edgy electric guitars, groovy drum beats, glamorous orchestral movements and epic vocal lines. The result is a timeless genre cocktail, served up as a brightly colored concept album.

As always, various cinematic and musical references to Italian genre cinema are openly played out, so that cineastic border crossers will notice a stylistically confident wink in the direction of Mario Bava or Ennio Morricone. The record is also given a double bottom by the homage to the iconic Italian “Fumetti neri” comics, which deal with the darker themes of pop culture in an extremely liberal manner. The result is an extremely danceable, beat-driven mixture of imaginary cult soundtrack and retro pop."1739229352787.png

" Original motion picture soundtrack by Mondo Sangue (film music composer Christian Bluthardt and singer Yvy Pop) for Luchino Martello’s unfinished masterpiece. A passionate tribute to the iconic music of 70’s erotica and carnivore movies."

Some amazing music was released on that label in that era. Shame the major labels today are so conservative.
Indeed! I believe majority of the music on these sets is now owned by many different labels , due the multiple merges, EMI no longer in business sadly, etc. I can't get enough of this..... Been listening to these 2 sets last two days non stop! Have discovered many new acts I had not heard before, I need to admit. At their peak these performers used to be "modern-pop" of their era. Compared to the modern times sad times we are living in...
