I enjoy some of Paul Hardcastle's music ("Rain Forest", for example) - but while the frontiers between categories are always blurry, this album does not have any "jazz" flavor.

All of his albums are a mix of genres including jazz. So yes, it isn't pure jazz, then again there are those who think if you aren't listening to Coltrane and the like you aren't listening to jazz. Would you like me to delete it from the thread since it doesn't meet your jazz criteria?

I did state that frontiers between genres are often blurry. In this album I don't hear any mix of genres, that's all I'm saying.
 
A little off topic, but it turns out Hardcastle has a YouTube channel. You can see him here, in this fun video, compose a dance hit on the spot:


As he mentions, he was a groundbreaker in a way, bringing electronic dance music into the pop charts. When I was in college, you could hear DJs on the radio mixing "Rainforest" with Afrika Bambaataa's "Looking for the Perfect Beat"...
