Whatever happened to freedom of speech

My name is Elliot!! not Elliott.

Elliott referred to "freedom of speech." The Bill of Rights only apply relative to state/government action. In the United States of America we are supposed to respect a concept called individual property rights.

If Elliott had a forum, he could moderate anyway he feels necessary. It's funny he doesn't apparently respect the authority of WBF to exercise their right to moderate how they see fit.

Michael.

Liberals all believe in free speech as long as they agree with what you have to say.
Its funny to me that you have no idea what the hewck your talking about but I dont delete your crap

Now, I know how most competent EEs feel when they read most audiophile posts.

I had no idea this was going to turn into a Political rant. Just another trash thread. Bye.

Given the title of the thread, what did you expect?

(Removed personal insult)

LOL. Commenting on someone's typing skill is a 'personal insult'. Maybe the OP has a valid point.

I’m with Dallas Justice. Private property rights is a philosophic concept that we have inherited from John Locke. It is not a “liberal” concept, as the word is used today; it’s more of a “classical liberal”/ libertarian concept. The institution of property rights has been brought about thanks to capitalism. There is nothing material in this world that is unlimited: concert hall, ocean property, farm land, cars and killer listening rooms with awesome audio gear - they all come in limited quantities. So does this forum.

With that said, I agree with Eliot that whether legal or illegal, ethically shady marketing practices should be exposed and aired out in audio forums. Most people here believe they are not influenced by others, but whether they are convinced to hear a “best” product by an audio figure of high authority, because there are so many products yet everyone else got a Wilson or a Magico, so it has to be good for me, or when all the reviewers/ authority figures are talking about a Wislon or a Magico, or when a dealer loans a piece of equipment and you feel indebted to him to buy something, etc., psychological forces are always pulling on us at all times.

By disinfecting these ordinary or legal-yet-seemingly-shady marketing practices we can help people make better decisions and reach their audio goals.

What Dallasjustice said. Freedom of speech is about government intrusion. You can start an internet site to promote the most hateful, anti-American nonsense you like; it is your right to be hateful and anti-American in America. But if a patriot comes on there and speaks out against you, it's your site, you get to delete his posts and ban him. It has nothing to do with "Freedom of Speech."

So you've been censored; are you now trying to be banned in a blaze of glory?

I recommend you read some news. Yes that is the way it is supposed to work according to the Constitution as written and amended BUT not how it works under the Obama regime or many other past "regimes" for that matter.

What you say and write in the effort of free speech may just you audited and even jailed as we saw in the Benghazi fiasco.

Freedom of speech is nonsense.

So I'm just a little confused; how can the current administration be both too liberal and fascist??

Excuse me "Progressive" thought a throwback to the old "liberal" socialist though is just a tiny leap to fascism.

No. Fascism is far right, ultra-conservative. Perhaps you are thinking of communism or socialism?

Sorry pal that has been a mischaracterization for all too long. Not even a hint of truth.

I am not here to justify "far right" but not even close

I already know I shouldn't do this, but I'm a little bored at the moment

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascism

I know, the Wikipedia is part of the "liberal media", and anyway I probably interpret what's in this article differently than you do...

Yes you are obviously bored and brainwashed but that is acceptable in these times of revisionism. Just join the crowd and March to the same tune.

Yeah top of that revisionist history is that the KKK was a benevolent organization.

I guess the Democrats would know since the VAST MAJORITY were indeed Democrats many elected to very high places.

But if we are going to revise history those were the "good ones" right, just like "Mary Jo would have been proud to see how much good Teddy as a result of his killing her"

Hello Elliot

This is an Internet forum. You got censored, it's their right to do so. If you don't like seeing your posts deleted or want complete control start a blog or your own Forum.
