OK I know, I know. Many will scream" I DON'T LISTEN TO HIP-HOP" .. This thread is about the music or so we claim or so we posture. Let's be adventurous. For those who don't care about hip-hop but like RnB This is about as much an RnB as it is a hip-hop album. Production is good , arrangements sublime.. Sound.. I didn't care enough but this album didn't strike me as being one of those Loudness wars victims.. All the contrary. It sounded good to me... Maybe on second listening. Lyrics? If you are sensitive to profanities then you may have to tune them out but those lyrics express a lot in a strong fashion.. much more than the vacuum/vacuousness hip-hop can spew like a Thomson machine-gun... No! they have meaning, they evoke an experience.

This album IMHO is one of the best RnB .. err hip-hop .. "not exactly either" :D albums of this decade

AS if I wasn't already a fan: Tidal rocks.. Long Live Tidal ... and Roon too :D !!

This is an excellent live recording. IMHO
I have it in many formats the SACD, two vinyls. My dads original when released. I picked up a later pressing then a few red books and finally my current fav a K2HD. Interestingly enough there appear to be a diff mix, some appear further back giving a more ambianced feel for the Hall, while others seem closer to the stage.

I have heard Jamaican Farewell on R2R from this recording. It was like Harry was in the room with me, goosebump realism. Indeed a great recording.
