I finally got my vinyl going again after having had replacement of both shoulders. I wired it all up and this is what I grabbed off the shelf. It’s been a great experience.


This was also my first use of a new RCM. I did some trading recently and my MW-1 and Kirmus were turned into a Clearaudio Sonic Dual Matrix. This record was already “clean,” but the touch up with the Dual Matrix Super Cycle and the anti-static feature did audibly lower the noise floor.

Not much that can go wrong in terms of timing and nice jazz.
I really like this.

 

Busted out an original 1972 ECM pressing of Chick Corea Return to Forever. Corea was a genius both for his compositions and playing. He also had a knack for teaming with players to compliment the music. No "filler" on this recording. Side B (Sometime Ago - La Fiesta) is 23:10 of pure magic.

 

Kenny and John joined by Tommy Flanagan, Paul Chambers, and Jimmy Cobb. Rudy Van Gelder recording in 1958. Remastered by Phil de Lancie in 1987. This recording on vinyl was one of many that made me a late adopter of CDs (not until 1989). With vinyl this great, there was no incentive to go digital.
