What's Spinning Tonight?

After Christmas food and Christmas dessert, drinks and coffee, it’s time to shake some that overburden off :D !! Time to turn the SL-1200G for some old school -80’s:

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Welcome To The Pleasuredome, originally from 1984, this however is the reissue from 2010 on two black vinyls at 33rpm.

Love this music - This get me going - Hard to sit still - Whaoo what an album :p !!!

3 tonearms, all with a different cartridge too...
Which tonearm & cartridge combo do you use most often and why?

Merry Christmas Johan! :p
Hi Greg and Merry Christmas to you too.

I use them almost equally as much. It soly depends on what music I play. They all obviously have different characteristics. When I get a new record I try all my arms/carts and try to figure out which one is best suited for that particular record. When I’m satisfied I make a note, so I know which arm to use for next time I play that record. To be honest, it’s quite funny how different they sound. Hope that explains your question.

I've always wondered why some have turntables with multiple tonearms. I've only owned a LP12 since 1983- sold my first LP12 in 2006 and bought a brand new one in 2010. I've kept up with all of the Linn upgrades EXCEPT their phono stage which I prefer my current EAR 324 phono stage.

Over the years I've looked at a boatload of turntables many with multiple tonearms & cartridge combos. There's so many choices for analog this day & age that choices can be difficult.

I'm very happy with what I have but was just curious about your table with multiple tonearms and cartridges. I've never asked anyone this question before for some reason...;)

Haha your most welcome, and I’m happy you asked, no worries :D. No need to be shy, just ask! I agree very much to what you said about the jungle with turntables, arms and cartridges… then you put SUT’s, cables and phonostages to account, and you have a whole rainforest.. LOL..!!! Not easy to make ONE choice. As long as you are happy with your setup, there is no need to change. The Linn LP12 is a fine turntable. If you want to make a different sound of what you already got, but make a slight change, try out another cartridge. I’m sure your dealer can lend you one to try at home. It can actually be a game changer. I’ve tried many different types of cartridges here, to land in what I got right now… My choices was not obvious from the beginning… I had to trial and error a lot before I found out what I liked. Now I am happy with my setup.

If going further, maybe we shall discuss this in another thread or go to a private conversation. Now back to topic !!

Three of the walls are more or less lined with shelves.
The pictures are a few years old, but this is what it looks like approximately...

The books disappear more and more as the vinyl collection grows...
Nice room!
I have a record & CD storage console in my living room holds maybe 600 LP's and about 400 CD's but have a separate dedicated room with nothing but bookshelves full of records, analog tapes, & CD's. I've way too much physical media...lol

The books was supposed to be more of a decoration from the beginning.
To many of them are in foreign languages but at least I try to browse them before they leave.

Now back to some music...
