What's Spinning Tonight?

P-pan, true but why sell them for peanuts then going out and buying them back again for possibly more than sold for?
He probably didn't have a good understanding of either the market or the prices.
Common regret probably plays a role too.
And I also don't understand why he didn't ask me about price ranges and other things.
His mistake too of course since he knew about my own collection
But that's history now so let's continue our own music listening...

Listening to the fabulous Ben Webster on the Giants of Jazz reissues. Priceless vinyl. Who gives liner notes like this for each track (even Mosaic is not as thorough).?Streaming? Forget about it! These early 1930 recordings are just so full of life.

Just listen to Limehouse Blues. What a performance! Here’s the liner notes for this track, recorded in 1934.

King Crimson
Three of a Perfect Pair

The 8MZ stylus ordered directly from Grado has saved the MT+ from getting tossed in the trash. Turned out to be a cheap way to see if it might be worth getting the original stylus retipped. Hum does not seem to be an issue when used on the 1200G (not so the 1200MK2). More detail/definition. Still sounds like a Grado. I guess my AR preamp has a “house sound” as well.

I was inspired to pull King Crimson’s Discipline, Beat and Three of a Perfect Pair out of the archive after watching BEAT concerts w/Belew, Vai, Levin and Carey; solid performances in my eyes…uhh, ears.

Wow - C O O L !!!

First out on the Ascona Neo this stormy windy Saturday morning☝:

KOTO - Masterpieces, an original ZYX pressing from 1989. This is a black original thin (no darn 180 grams wankfest) good sounding vinyl at 33rpm.

I actually ordered this one used from Discogs with a bit of scepticism, as it was quite expensive for this particular copy.

Now… I tell you guys☝, it was worth every penny, as it arrived in absolute Mint condition, with the original mindblowing sound as of the CD from the same year, just with the magic vinyl touch to it. I also have the 2015 release reissue that I bought a couple of years ago, but that one ain’t worth playing as it sounds like crap compared to this original. That reissue I will drive my hammer through and destroy, cus I don’t want ANYONE to experience a no good sound like that.. LOL…!!!

Couldn’t be more satisfied with this old one though, as it is a killer album :D !!!

This album has had plenty of space during the day.

Manu Katché's album Third Round is really good if my musical taste would be allowed to decide a bit.

If I remember correctly, this album is about ten years old but what an album. Highest jazz score according to my scale.

Hope you've had a good day.
If not, listen to Third Round a bit.
It'll probably be good, if you appreciate fine-tuned jazz i.e....

Right now streaming for a change☝:

Underworld - Everything, Everything (live), from the year 2000. Just an amazing live performance. Enjoy ;) !

I'm on a rock kick. I found a The Who that has the count in and some pre jam on some tracks. I am blown away how much sound 4 guys make. It sounds like there are 5 people instead of 4.

I listen to that old rock and really appreciate how good those musicians were. I don't know much about new bands. I wonder if they are the same caliber.

Cool - I had a similar experience yesterday listening to Pantera. Those guys were really something. Too bad some of them had to go to heaven so soon RIP. The music is still amazing though.
