I don't know how this lady wasn't discovered or known about by myself prior to last week, but I immediately was smitten with her recording quality and songs. The first song I heard from her was, "All your Love". As soon as the first notes were broadcast through the rig? I literally perked up, stopped what I was doing and completely fell in love with the music. I liked it so much, that I played it twice in a row!

Huge Sara K fan. Had a special evening years ago when she was playing at the Cowgirl Hall of Fame in Santa Fe. We sat a few feet away from her as she played to a somewhat preoccupied restaurant audience.

I was not aware of this LP. It prominently states “Direct From Original Master Tapes” on the album cover.
This was a digital recording, DDD code on CD. I rather doubt that they also recorded a tape Master. Am I missing something?

Your assumption is probably correct.
I have never seen or heard of any of her albums on R2R.
If I’m not mistaken, all of Chesky Records recordings were/are digital. They were known as pioneers of audiophile level digital recordings.

“Play on Words” was the first Sara K disc I heard and owned and the one that really put her on the map.
Having followed her over all these years and meeting her in Santa Fe, the fancied up photo of her on the album cover was not what she was about, but it probably helped sell a lot of CDs!

I will not buy AudioNautes LP as a protest to the blatant source misrepresentation, prominently displayed on the album cover- reminds me of MFSL scandal of a few years ago.

Bought her Gypsy Alley disc from Tower Records NYC back in the day and followed her until her retirement. I always thought it strange that her Chesky discs sounded similar to that album in their recorded quality.

Sara should have been a huge star but Chesky put paid to that.

Her Stockfisch albums are recorded even better but her last album, Don’t I know you from somewhere , is painful to listen to, recorded after Chris Jones’ passing.

A wonderful voice and a wonderful person.
