When audio companies go out of business

If a company disappears, and I have their equipment that I like, I keep it.

The thing that bothers me most is all the retail stores that are going out of business. Most recently, it was Great Northern Sound in Minneapolis. I live thousands of miles from there, but each time a good store like that goes under, our hobby is threatened a little bit more. A lot of the larger manufacturers depend on brick and mortars to survive, and we smaller manufacturers depend on the survival of larger manufacturers because their presence at shows like RMAF is necessary to keep it going. Without venues like RMAF, we little guys get lost in mix. The store goes, his vendor is threatened, and little guys who need exposure get hurt, too. I may not care at all about a lot of the equipment available out there, but I do want to survive.

We have our spats and infighting, but like it or not, we live in one big extended family. Maybe we are little dysfunctional at times, however.
Okay, a lot dysfunctional. ;)
