I'm considering a pair of the Pure Audio Project Trio 15's, but i'm unsure which centre driver i should choose. The Voxativ AC-X is above my pay grade, so that's out of the question.

I'm running a Gryphon Diablo 250w, streaming from an Auralic Aries S1 + PSU into a Holo May KTE.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on what you've heard, or are using.

You can always upgrade later to the AC-X. I have the Trio Classics with the standard Voxativ and have no desire to change it. I would love to hear them with the field coil but above my pay grade as well. I do want a pair of Quintets eventually as well.
I have read on another forum that a few people have moved from the standard Voxativ to the Horn1, and were much happier with the change.

They were impressive when I hear them last year at Pacific Audio Fest using the then-new coax driver. It was more even-handed than the standard Voxativ. Not being a horn enthusiast, they struck me as a good choice for many. Always wanted to hear the AC-Pipe Voxativ version but haven't had the opportunity.
The relatively simple upgrade options along with high performance/$ make the value prop of PAP a standout, IMHO. Cheers!

As much as I would like to try the horn 1 in my trios, I cannot install it as these are Classics and don’t have removable panels. I don’t how much “better” it would be but surely different.

I would consider the Coax driver. I love this Beymar driver in my Qintet15s. It has the same compression driver as the Horn1, and a 10 inch bass/mid driver. This driver blends really well with the 12 inch units.
