You clearly have never worked for a sole proprietor who required 12 hr days for 7 days a week indefinitely. If you didn’t like it, you are fired. I have. This is in the US where business dictates to workers, unless protected by union terms. Then try to get a job with that blemish on your “record”. Corporate slavery is alive and well here.As no one seems to be reporting this thread, I think I will chime in. I am of the opinion that a government should not be dictating such work rules, especially in a country like the United States that celebrates diversity and has become a panoply of different cultures with different values. Encourage self reliance and allow people to work as much or as little as they want and to whatever degree is in their best self interest, and that of their employer. Expectations should be discussed and agreed-upon and the government should stay out of it.

Now that I have been salaried for the last 30 years, I’m incented to work around the clock to keep my understaffed projects afloat. Hire someone? Hah! We have a salaried project manager, you fool.
Governments need to regulate or the loonies take over.

Yes, with a guaranteed minimum/maximum so no one gets taken advantage of !I have worked for a sole proprietor. I worked like crazy for low wages for architects for years. I now have my own business. My point is that hours of work should be for mutual benefit as agreed upon by both parties.
Well, it’s a living. Someday my stereo system will be completed and I can hang it up. I started out working for The Man, then it was The Woman, now it’s The Dealer, lol.Sounds like you re up for a change as well.

Unless you work for the government. And in Spain (as in most countries) there are minimum days of paid annal leave. Imagine the horror of that! In the US there are none.
