Shunyata Everest X release this week

What is the upgrade cost?
Exterior and outlets look the same as previous so I assume it's all internal.....
I don't know there has been no information about that

would love to hear a blind comparison between an Everest and Everest-X....
just for kicks how exactly would you do that?
FYI I replaced by Typhon/Denali with the Everest X. I was told by Shunyata when I got those pieces last year that they were virtually identical to an Everest in performance but easier for many to use since they fit on a shelf or a rack.

IMO there is a huge difference as I have already written about

Have an existing Everest 8000 and Everest-X on hand, then do a switch between the two....same tracks and same cords....as an end purchaser, I want to hear the difference before sending my Everest 8000 in for an upgrade.

fyi took me around an hour to do that in my place

IMO this is one of the best audio devices I have ever used . I can't tell anyone that is a silver bullet or a universal fix but in my system I am hearing into the recordings like never before. When I am sitting at my desk outside the room the music truly sounds like there is someone in there playing the piano. My system has incredible bass resolution and integration and that is now at another level.
I believe that this product has done an amazing job of foundation power supply purity . FPSP lol a new term.
I am sure that those who have a really excellent system will go nuts over this because everything will just get clearer, more defined, more transparent, more you are there. I really notice that the system is far better than ever before at low levels, micro dynamics, low level images both front to back and side to side. The spaces between the notes is simply marvelous.
the unit has been on now three days , maybe there is more to come, maybe there isn't but for right now its the best result I have had.

Hi Elliot,

I’m wondering, are you powering the Everest-X with an Omega-X XC power cord or something else? Thanks.

What do you have plugged into the Everest X - front end, preamp, amps, subs?

The EV-X replaced a Typhon and a Denali in the front end of my system. My Pre, DAC with 2 PS, Server and PS and Reiki switch with PS are all plugged into the EV-x and it is attached to the Altaira grounding system. So my entire front end of the system. IN the back end of the system I have the amps and subs ground again to the altaira and I used Typhon T-30 with the amps. Subs are directly into the wall with 20 amp power cords.

Sigma 20 amp PC. I guess someday I will have to cough up the difference to try Omega X however my whole front is Sigma power cords except for the Reiki

In the past I watched a factory tour video on Shunyata filters and the internal components are potted. I don't see how you upgrade it. I guess they could pull the entire core out and save the chassis and receptacle ports. If the upgrade was $5000. That does not make $$$$ sense. As in, that makes the chassis and outlets $10,000 in parts and the core $5000. I would think the core would be the $$$$$$.

I haven't spent any quality time with any of this, but conceptually I like the idea of the Everest specifically because it doesn't take up space on the rack.

I like the Everest X design and have the space for it in my new room, the old room it really didn't work for me hook up wise. I am thrilled with what the new X does and I look forward to using them in some client applications, Visually it definitely makes a statement IMO.

I have had the Everest X in the system for a week or so and I assume its broken in fully. I spent some time last evening listening to my system and think that I have crossed another divide. I have more information than ever before. Its the most revealing its ever been. This is good but it also means I need to now work lol. If I can hear more I can get more out of the system. I did some adjustments and moved the speakers a little and got even more. I do believe that starting point , the clean slate, is better and therefore I can hear and feel more of what the room, speakers and gear are doing.
I will try going back to my Riviera Amps next week and see what happens there as well. I do love those mono's and it will be interesting to see if the system result changes going back to them after the Everest and a few minor adjustments. The EMM mono's are beasts and really sound great but since I have another pair of mono blocks, another pair that has been my standard for over 2 years I want to hear them in this new environment. I can say that the dynamics both small and large are the best I have ever had in my room and system and the toe tap rating is off the chart.
I am aware that perfect is never possible and a goal that causes insanity so the degrees of difference is the area we play in, this area at this level is a one of preference, one of love vs like, one of joy of listening, one of floating away and getting lost in the music, one of peace at least for the period of time until another lightning bolt hits.
Its those days and nights when I am glued to my chair with a smile and my toe tapping that I seek and I love it when I get the visit from my friend HO LEE FUK!

I could do it here in about 10 minutes (everest is in front of rack)...that said, I know it's going to be an upgrade but I would want to hear the blind A/B before spending the cash.....the Everest 8000 is amazing....
Per 34, how do you know the X is fully broken in to determine the differences?
