Stereophinic, the Zu Definitions 4 spkrs.

My issues are multiple -

. . . down firing subs incorporating 350W Class D amps and Lundahls transformers.

. . .

Why is this an “issue”?

A built-in, self-powered driver is a common design . . .

Ron, the Zus aren't brilliantly designed here, with the Class D amps at the base, open and unshielded to the down firing driver. Factor in a big transformer, and reverse effects from my springy 50x35 suspended floor, and I can see exactly why the right isolating footers solution could be so pivotal. These RevOPods are that solution for me.

This really feels like my final breakthrough on getting both expressiveness and neutrality. I'm combining the RevOPods under my Zus with a twin sandwich isolating of Panzerholz and Symposium Svelte Shelves.

The things my Zus came up short on when compared to other well set up systems, inner detail, microdynamics, air, tonal discrimination, I do feel I've made massive strides addressing these in the last 2 years, from the new room, through balanced power and dedicated lines, Stacore and Sablon, and now finally wrangling the Zus w these RevOPods.

2019 is the year I settle down to listen 100%, fuss 0%, and as a final piece of the jigsaw puzzle, the RevOPods have completed my particular picture.

Mine are due soon, all black too.
Let us all know how they perform under your gear.
I have the option to try them under Dac/SGM or amps.

I have ready six ones for my TADs CR1 with the gold screws.
The other ones are for my Wadax Server or DAC.

What dou you want to say?
As you see on the pictures, there are three thread sizes for every Revopod, M6, M8 and M10.
I need M6 for the TADs and a special M10 for the Wadaxs.
They comes with the set except the Wadax M10.
You only need an allen to insert them.

I am needing some footers for my current speakers and need to make the thread hence why I asked.

Bill, you cannot believe how many spike companies only provide metric size threads.

Stereophonic, are you ready to give some impressions on how they perform under each component.
Mine are awaiting special size thread adaptors for my amps before delivery.

Hi Blue.
Long answer. As you are waiting them, we can talk about your experience.
I don’t want to influence you.... Listen first.
Regards.

First day with the RevOpods under the Aqua Formula XHD and initial thoughts on sound quality were a dissapointment in lack of any uptick over my home made acrylic and Tungsten roller ball footers.

I don’t know if the Aqua feet are removable and so I was unable to screw in the RevOpods therefore the Aqua rests on the four feet utilising the silicone ring to avoid slippage.

I’d also finger tightened the height adjustment ring to get a minimum height. I then realised this does not ‘float’ the bearing assembly. Each RevOpod was then carefully released by 8 clicks and one adjusted one more click to equal up the firmness of each beneath the Dac.

This careful adjustment has brought some improvement, especially in the bass which is a touch tighter but drier. I can’t say I notice any other differences though I’m sure the feet have to settle down and perhaps require further adjustment.

My concern at present is an apparent slowing of tempo which I’m particularly sensitive to. Perhaps the Tungsten bearings are emphasising leading edges so the RevOpods are actually more accurate.

I’ll give them another 24 hours to settle before I add the second set to the SGM2015.

Cheers

On the recommendation of Arya Audio I upturned the RevOpods so the Delrin part of the foot touches the base of the Aqua Dac and the wider (top) now rests on the platform via the silicone ring.
I noticed a slight increase in air and a touch more solid bass with correct timing so overall an improvement, albeit a small one over original bearings.

I've just been informed that the Aqua feet are screwed in with 6mm threads and I may replacing them as my next option. My concern is over the silicone ring as the interface between foot and dac, would it not be better to have a metal to metal contact?

For £700 they've not made an impression on me but can appreciate that they must sound sublime if replacing stock feet as some Wadax owners have discovered.

Barry, as usual in this hobby, YMMV
FWIW, your system sound is already v balanced, and maybe yr pre existing footers suit it just fine. Not every change is slam dunk good, or poor.

For me, my Zus have the challenge of downfiring subs into a large expanse of century and a half old flexy suspended timber floor, combination of spkrs/down-firing subs/amps/transformers/high- and low-pass filters, to be isolated.
All I can say is that the Zus have really responded well to RevOPods isolation, furthermore in conjunction w Panzerholz.

Some further comments are now due after several weeks with RevOpods under the Aqua Formula DAC.
My initial reservations held true and I did detect a slowing of pace and a more recessed soundstage to all types of music. I tried the feet both ways up and in the end decided to revert to my original bearing type feet.

Further conversation with Arthur Marker, the designer of the RevOpods, about my issues led to him kindly swapping the feet for the 120kg max load set even though the DAC only weighs approx 10kg.

Now this set is much better and throws a more forward presentation and soundstage is totally immersive. I can also say there is more resolution, possibly due to a lower noise floor, and I’m hearing even more micro details. The studio acoustic is now close to really being in the studio, in the thick of things, as opposed to listening from the door.

I have another 120kg load set awaiting trial under the SGM2015 where, once again, I currently use Aurios roller bearings.

One last comment, I prefer the RevOpods inverted, that is to say the Delrin tip is in contact with the DAC, and suspect the silicone interface ring is ‘at fault’ here. If I was using the threads I would try without this ring to create a metal to metal contact.

Cheers

Are they worth the price? Yes, I believe they are.
