Great looking set up. Congratulations. I really like the wooden shelf and Stacore support. Did you listen to the AF3 without the Stacore too? I'm curious how the Stacore affected the sound. One does not read much about that MSL Signature Platinum cartridge. Could you please describe the sound in your system and how it compares to some other cartridges?

I spot a Pass XS Phono on the rack. I love this phono stage. How do you like it?
Thank you very much!
I did a short test and replied this a bit above^ to Spiritofmarc;
I find it a bit difficult to make absolute conclusions right now, because a lot has changed in my system the last few weeks/months, but it does improve the midbass and bass, you can follow notes even better.
Higher mids and highs i hear not much difference. I have to admid that with my old Feickert i lost some high energy with a platform but not with the Techdas. One thing for sure i don't loose anything, only improvements here and there.

The MSL sign platinum has a good balanced sound in my system. Bass, mids and highs all are in good proportion. It has lots of detail and a very good soundstage, very wide. A bit less depth than my Shelter Harmony and the Grado Epoch. But better in everything than the
A95 and Koetsu Vermillion i had before. Overall a very good performer for me. But not as good as the Grado Epoch (imho).....

Yes i love that phonostage too. Offcourse there could be a lot of better ones, but compared to a few others at that time, top Moon top Soulution, i prefered the XS. I also like the 3 inputs and the adjustability.

I have the same arm cart combo in the rear of my Techdas now too. The sound is more solid more planted more organized than when the Platinum was on my Kronos.

I see you like the Kronos record weight.

Kind regards,
Tang
I agree with you on that. With the Techdas the sound is also more powerfull and has more control more traction.

Well i don’t love that weight, but it’s the least worst i have at the moment .. ;-)

They both rethrieve information equally well imo. Kronos character is more like lightning storm while Techdas is more like a Tsunami. Now I let you go wild with your imagination...hahahah.

Tang :D

That is won of the wettest and wildest things I've ever read on an audio forum. Great stuff, Tang. Have you played the opening track of the first Black Sabbath LP on your stormy system?

AF3p 4T sme in spot.jpg I put another tonearm on the AF3p.
In "spotlight" SME 3012R with VdH Colibri , master Signature stradivarius , 1,1mV.

Wow, this is very good! I played it about 30 hours last few days so still bit new.

First notes were allready impressive, now after 25+hr it's getting serious... But not on all records...
Midrange tone and bass is very very good. Soundstage is very wide and depht is up with the bests.
Midbass, mids and highs are extremely fast and dynamic. But microdynamics and detail is also impressive.
Only the high energy is very much pronounced, i have to get more used to that and it needs more hours maybe. But that holds me a bit back for most records playing.
On very good recorded jazz and classical albums this could be my favorite, but i should not make too fast conclusions and let's wait for 100hrs.

AF3p 4T.jpg
it's getting a bit crowded :).

I tried on my AF3P a longer belt (Micro Seiki SF1-L copy) to have more distance between Motor and Chassis.
That was much better in appearance and functionality, but the original belt outperforms the SF-1L Copy belt, so I am back to standard belt.

Hopefully TechDAS will offer a longer belt in their aftermarket program (may be they read here :)

I told before:
I have the Reed 5T tangential tonearm with the Grado Epoch cartridge on loan.
I very much prefered this combi to the Ikeda 407/Harmony and to the Axiom/MSL Platinum.

The tone from low to high is beautiful and dynamics are amazing. This Cart is so fast, unbelievable. The highs are the best i have ever heard.
So i have to find out what brings the most in this combi, both tonearm and cartridge must be good but what brings the Magic...?
I will try later (this weekend?) to put the Grado Epoch in the Axiom or Ikeda.

The Grado Epoch is now on the Ikeda 407. The sound and qualities i described before are for 90% the same now.
Only the last track on a side is a little bit less good, maybe i can try to align it a bit different. And also the bass is a little bit more rounded than with the Reed.
Overall i very much like this cartridge and for the moment it is the best i have, allthough the VdH Colibri has even more magic but a bit less musical to me.

Wow wow wow. Hats off to you. How many people move so fast in a year? Willingness to change is so refreshing in audiophilia.

Details of horns, please.

Thank you. Well was looking for about 18 months for something like this and listened / auditioned to a lot of different speaker and Horn systems last year. And finally have this Cessaro Zeta system since a few weeks :).

Now with updated voicing and crossover.
Maybe i should open a seperate topic for more details.

WoW! You picked the speakers that never sounded good at show. How brave!

You have their newest big model. I actually wanted a Beethoven but eventually decided on the modular system due to room limitation. If you can get them to sing right the first time you are very very good. Your room seems pretty much the same size as mine..maybe a little narrower and less ceiling height. What kind of bass horns you chose. Where do you put them? Your model has two 11" for midbass. Maybe you dont need the lower bass section at all. But cant take my comment seriously, I am not a bass freak.

Enjoy your listening,
Tang
