Same here. Nice audiophile mids that's about it
I'm averse to audiophile mids and easy listening. No such sound last time I heard Guergiev conduct Shostakhovich 7-th…

Tubes. Don't remember which. Jadis ? Cary ?

Mids that are not recreating the sounds of instruments, but a polite image of it. Voices are clean, unnatural, plasticky, electronics. Yamada told me recently : "I tend to avoid singers with mouths that are unnaturally large".

These are gorgeous, but are not the Odeon…
The Universums are in the living room(=main listening room) and the Odeon 38/2 are in the second downstairs listening room ;)

As I am coming from « planned economy » the plan is everything to me:)
Universum IIII with Cubes are scheduled for mid March 2019 for auditioning.
For time being I listen to Cubes in two of my setups

Sorry for being OT but how do you like the Cubes? Compared to our mutual Crossfire 3? What tubes are in your C3? Stock Chinese or Russian goodness?

The bass horn firing towards the ground and the 2 other to the front are giving coherence ?
I was sceptical too but it works like a charm to my surprise

Will share my thoughts when a bit more time.
In my C3 I recently changed all tubes in pre section, all Russian beauties:)

Try NOS US 6SJ7 on the input...I found they are more tonally interesting than Russian NOS ones.
Ok, will try to find them.

I love Liechtenstein as much as Switzerland. :D
Feel free to visit me and build your own impressions on the Universums ;)

Please do, I'm very interested in your findings :D

Anyone familiar with the Charney Concerto speakers?
Never heard (of) this brand and model but compared to the Pnoe, the Concerto with AER3 driver almost looks more accessible at 28k compared to the 85k (?) for the Pnoe

The AER5 is very expensive around 50k GBP..The 4 is around 30k. Dunno cost for the 3. Rest is horn cost.

It will be interesting to listen to the Charney. Does anyone know what amps are being used by the manufacturer with them?

Edit - just saw, 8w 300b amps of his own.
