Thank you Tao! All the kudos should go to Stacore Bogdan - he is the main responsible guy here. The surface texture indeed turned out very interesting. In this particular rack it will disappear though as the rack is carbon steel and must be painted. However if there is an interest, it can be made from stainless steel, keeping all the textures. Another interesting aspect is the action of damping mechanism in the legs. Although made out of 1" thick steel plates, the horizontal shelves still ring. But when joined with the legs, using our special mounting system, they get damped out nicely.

FYI here is a bit on the damping system. We wanted to try something nobody tried before: A no compromise Constrained Layer Damping (CLD) technique for ultimate damping of the rack legs and as a result the whole structure. The CLD is implemented through a leg-in-a-leg construction: Each vertical section is made of an outer shell and an inner leg, joined by a selected viscoelastic material in a specialized industrial process. Both structures are smartly decoupled, giving a high floor vibration rejection ratio apart from the high inner damping. The outer and inner legs are made out of 5mm thick extruded steel for added mass, rigidity, and stability. The inner chamber can be additionally owner-filled with sand, lead shots or gravel for added mass. All the construction must assembled and aligned to tight tolerances to maintain a perfect rack geometry with outstanding rigidity. The leg structure requires lengthy and complicated manufacture process: CNC pre-processing, precision welding, viscoelastic filling, and CNC post-processing.

Very interesting approach, Jarek. Mass + viscoelastics. Nice cutaway model showing construction; I wish more manufacturers of racks would show details like this. Does the viscoelastic material have a lifespan or need refresh?

Thank you Tima! The viscoelastic is an industrial material and it is filled once and forever by a specialized factory.

Cheers,

Another interesting product from our workshop:

A custom Stacore Advanced Superplatform. Custom slate body and pneumatics, 64x64cm working area, 80kg load capability, special cryogenically treated bearings, 136kg own weight. Commissioned by our Benelux distributor Ultisone for a custom TT. Thanks Michel (flyer here) for bringing such ambitious and challenging projects!

Good stuff Jarek. Always love seeing your work. 2 years plus of Stacore Advanced under my tt, and my analog has been brought to a level I really didn't ever think I could get to.

Jarek, it really was my pleasure to bring yr project to the attention of people here. And it was truly facinating to hear such a difference btwn three passive solutions ie Stacore, my pre existing Symposium rack and Minus K, and then to active ie Kuraka.

What was really interesting was the ease of dismissing Minus K (just insipid in my system), loving the active Kuraka to the point of no hint Stacore could be better in any meaningful way, and the Stacore then exploding that assumption. And significantly better than my Symposium rack.

And the Stacore then literally and figuratively becoming the platform my analog began to match my digital, and then exceed it.

Critically it's been the foundation that every major analog upgrade I've made since has easily been heard as positive or negative, allowing me to really eliminate possible blind alleys and really let me get the most from my vinyl.

Guys, I'm considering Stacore rack for my new showroom. I'd appreciate your input on performance. I understand that A/B comparisons are not easy considering the size and weight of these :)

Thanks

Performance wise, the rack and the platforms are making a compelling proposition. Jarek and Bogdan can accommodate all the bespoke requests. To me, it is a no brainer. No other high end rack maker could offer me what Stacore has put on the table.

Thanks for your input! I already had a chat with Jarek and he's been very helpful.

Well, I'm as sold today on Stacore as I was on day one. Can't comment on the rack concept, but the platform really has helped my tt outperform.

If you want the best, Stacore racks are probably the tops. They look like a tank, weigh like a tank, cost like a tank and can probably be run over by a tank. The only downside is the cost, otherwise it’s a no brainer. Remember, shelves and their awesome platforms are extra. I’m just waiting for my winning lotto numbers to be selected.

Im running my digital front end. MP64 and Pacific on Stacore Advanced shelves on a wood floor. I think that stacore brings big benefits in the situation where the shelf is doing all the work.

II would expect the rack to add even more, however the platform alone brings a lot of performance.

Same here, tt on Stacore Advanced on the floor originally. I've subsequently added a static 50kg slate stand under the Stacore to raise my Stacored tt off the floor, out of harm's way from my down firing subs, and to enable me to setup my rig with more ergonomic ease.

But the "heavy lifting" is all Stacore.

I believe the phrase "serious bit of kit" is totally appropriate here.
