Yes. But I’ve already bought the upgrade on my digital to pre xlr interconnect. I’ll get to hear gen 5 vs gen 6 (magnum opus) with that being the only system change.
I’m pretty confident that it’s going to be a nice step up given my previous Transparent experience on version or level upgrades. It’s might be a few weeks before I get a upgrade slot however. Stay tuned
congratulations

What do you think about Transparent vs High Fidelity? I currently have one of HFC XLR on test and really like what I am hearing. But always wanted to try Transparent. Unfortunately, Ultra is the only series available for audition and I am a bit sceptical. Do you think it is worth trying Ultra series?

would audience front row cables compete with transparent audio.? I would like to think so.I was using transparent ultra speaker cable and went to audience front row and it was a big improvement in the sound.my transparent was 15 years old I must admit.

I always encourage people to try new things. It's the best way for you to answer your question. Transparent Ultra is a pretty sweet cable, I'd get it for audition.

This is one of those things it's hard to say to your ears and your system with out just trying it. Most Transparent dealers have a demo kit available.

And don't forget MBL want you to use 2 cables per side, not internally bi-wired in one cable ! ;)
I'm happy with my AudioQuest Thunderbird biwire cables on the MBL's.
Will probably move these along to another lucky owner.
Just holding these monsters and feeling the high quality of construction is quite an experience!

My DAC to PRE Transparent Magnum Opus Gen 5 to Gen 6 interconnect (XLR) update came yesterday. It's a substantial change. The first thing is resolution and clarity. It's not a subtle difference. Next is better textures and how communicative the music is. It's one of those things that you notice in the first few notes. Everything moves forward, nothing goes backwards. I only have ~24 hours playing time...so I guess in a few days it'll get better...but it's already better than before.

I do appreciate Transparent on how they upgrade their clients. These cables are not cheap, but it's commensurate with a dac or preamp upgrade.

Great stuff! Are you going to do the full loom changeover?

Yes over time for sure. It's a funny thing to have all this resolution, but still retain the warmth/wetness on the notes that Transparent has always be known for.

Excellent news! I think that was the primary improvement between MM2 and Gen 5 as well. Maintaining the organic/tonal qualities, while continuing to hone the level of detail by lowering noise (not by sharpening).

Well said, I'd say this move is a little bigger to Gen 6, but it's been 5 years since I made the mm2 to gen 5 switch.

Nice ! How do they compare to your previous cables ? Same settings on jumpers, attack/neutral/neutral as before ?
Thanks.
They blew away my biwire AQ Thunderbird cables.
I'm getting in some Wireworld Platinum Eclipse 7 cables to see how they fare.
Of course these Transparent cables are for sale since way too much invested in them, but I am really enjoying them until they go.
Incredible imagining, both instruments and vocals!
Same crossover setup.

I've always been fascinated with Transparent speaker wires. However, my home is in Sarasota, fL. We have excellent dealers here for most other lines. My previous home was in Maryland so I retain a dealer relationship for Wilson Audio and dCS there. He is not a Transparent dealer and feels Nordost is the best match with Wilson so I'm a Valhalla2 speaker cable owner. Bottom line, I have no access to a loan of Transparent speaker cables for a listen. I should add that I've been warned that my new c-j ART27A power amplifier driving Wilson Yvettes can be a little fussy about cable selection. Any suggestions?
