Great to hear. I also know of another Stern / Heisenberg set bought to replace a top-flight Naim system, beating out CH head to head

Great stuff...an extraordinarily consistent set of superlatives for Audionet, in many cases citing its natural and musical flow. Are you keeping the Humboldt? Going Stern/Heisenberg?
I'm not able to keep this unit because the distributor needs it for his demos, it already left.
Anyway i'm not in a hurry, i really need to think about this and perhaps wait to be able to afford a Heisenberg/AC Impera ll Ref combo.
This would be end game for me.

A high quality decision to consider!

Can you please help to clarify which CH Precision preamp / amps it was compared to?

You are bang on here! I believe the Impera II REF driving the Audionet MAXs are our current reference electronics and the best amp/pre combination we have ever heard. We plan on having the Heisenbergs paired with the IMPERA Signature in our stable by year end. REMARKABLE and VERY competitive with the equally remarkable HUMBOLDT which we have had for about a year. In some systems, with lower efficiency speakers and/or larger rooms, the IMPERA/MAX combination simply cannot be beat, save for the IMPERA SIG/ HEISENBERG combination looking forward

Please let us know when you have the Heisenberg paired with the Impera ll, i'm very interested.
I'm also looking a another combo that could be pretty awsome : Grandinote Genesi + Audia Flight Strumento n° 8.

Anyone here tried Ayre KX-R + Audionet amplification?

I can't believe there are better preamps than Ayre out there except for Kondo in simplicity of design and purity of sound

How about choice between 2 theoretical scenarios:
1. Totaldac DAC ( voulme control) + Totaldac Drivers + Heisenberg monos to Alsyvox Botticelli
2. Totaldac DAC ( max volume) + TotalDAC drivers + Humboldt ( volume control) to Alsyvox Botticelli
I wonder what scenario would work better 1 or 2 ?

Hello, I sure am enjoying my new Stern and Heisenbergs. I listen often in the dark, and wondering how many others find the screen of the Stern and power buttons distracting. I have spoken with Stefan at Audionet (super nice, very fast response) and there is quite hopefully a software update coming that will allow the Stern screen to go totally dark when set to 0 brightness! The power buttons are very bright to me also, and perhaps a harder issue for them to change. I have cut three circular discs of self adhesive vinyl, and lightly attached them to the buttons. You cans still tell they are on or off, (especially from any angle), but do not bother me when in front of my system. BTW, this is how I have a matching black Tambaqui as well!

Hi fast.freight:
Congratulations on your new Stern and Heisenbergs. They will sound even better after a few months of burn in.
I agree that the power buttons on the Heisenbergs are very bright. I’ve had two pair of Heisenbergs powering YG Sonja XV Jrs for several years now. I certainly don’t need a night light when listening in the dark :)
But I can live with that minor annoyances since my system sounds so alive I just close my eyes and think about what concert hall the orchestra is playing in. And my Stern is about one quarter the brightness of my Heisenbergs
I also noticed at Bill Parish’s big listening room the newer Heisenbergs aren’t as bright as the older models.

Question for you, I noticed you’re using a Muon filter. Where in your digital chain do you use it and does it improve what your now hearing with your new Audionet electronics?

Hi Davidny, Good to hear from you. I think Bill had told me about your Sean Jacobs PS prior to my doing it. Do you still use Aries G2.1 with this PS? Curious if your Auralic dops of the network from time to time after long pauses? Sometimes for me it does, and it can be an easy fix (Going to Auralic app and playing something, then returning to Roon), but other times the app can not find it and it takes patient shut down and restart.

I do enjoy my Muon Filter System. I got it before the Stern and Heisenbergs, and then had Pre G2 and Max's. It is right before my Auralic Streamer.
I took it out to try i n my upstairs system, and missed it. It also improved my upstairs, which is MM Makua with onboard streamer and Tambaqui. So I Ordered a second one! I guess that is a glowing recommendation. I have never heard my new gear without it. Worth a try, but juggling network cables can put my Aries in a dither. Happy New Year!

Also, you have an amazing system! Good to find people who have invested more than I have! Try cutting circles a bit larger than the buttons from self adhesive black or ?silver for you? vinyl. EZ on and off and perfect in the dark. You have to look to even notice my lights or the circles.
I have pics but the new Apple photos won't upload easily for me here. Ken

Hi Ken
Yes I’m still enjoying the sound of Aries G2.1 powered by a Sean Jacobs ARC6 DC4 power supply. The improvement in clarity and dynamics is quite significant, making the cost, effort and very long burn in period worth it to me FYI, Sean has offered to look into a power supply for the Tambaqui, but I haven’t had the guts to take him up on the offer :)
I haven’t experienced any connection issues with my Aries either to the network or with the DAC. I see you’re using an EtherRegen. I tried one and after a long burn in nether Bill nor I liked what it did to the sound. One thing you might want to try is just using the ”A-side” ports. I’m told by others, who heard what I heard, that sounds better than going from the A to B-side and might make for a less finicky connection to your network.
Thanks for the advice on the Muon.

Ken,
I am a "listen in the dark" kind of guy as well. So for the Heisenbergs I bought a cheap pair of sunglasses with round lenses, then shaped them carefully with a grinder to the size I needed. I later wanted them darker so I spray painted them black. I use blue tak to stick them on. Here is a pic;
