Dear All,
I have reached out to KR Audio to check whether they would be willing to make a batch production of KR 242 tubes. This is the response, I have got.
Seems like we can send our orders directly to Eunice from KR Audio, once she collects enough orders she will make a production run.
I suggest (I hope this is in line with WBF rules) we post in this thread how many tubes we are willing to order, so that it is easier to keep track of the total order and when production run can take place.

YES JUREK WE COULD DO A PRODUCTION CYCLE OF 60 to 80 X KR 242 UX-4 BASES FOR Lampizator, BUT IT WOULD BE SOMETIME LATER NEXT QUARTER, June or JULY.. IT MIGHT BE SOONER IF i collect more orders for this tube model.
If this is acceptable, let us know.
THANK YOU,

I have placed an order for 4 pairs in total from my side.
Let's see whether we can indeed reach 60-80 tubes in total.

Cool we are already at 20 tubes. Let's hope we can reach 60 quickly and Eunice can prioritize our batch in production sequence ;)

I have a pair of 242's that I am willing to sell. If you are interested please PM me. I had this pair in a Lampi Pacific for about 3 hours. It really didn't work for me.

The 242s are the highest gain, correct?

Yes. In some solid state amps that will result in clipping, but with tube amps that never happens.
For my Wavacs MD805M this is by far the best choice. EML AD1 is also quite good, KR242RK are also nice, PX25 not bad, but KR242 is in the league of its own in my setup.

That's what I'm afraid of - overloading my Pilium integrated.

I found this post from cpcat in the tube rolling thread:

"If anyone is interested the gain [KR 242s] measures around 2 db greater than the RK242s, 5db greater than the RK PX25s, and thus around 8db greater than the WE300b reissue and other 300b types I have tried."

Any idea how much a pair of 242s would be?

Excellent question ;)
And also how much shipping will be within Europe compared to shipping to another continent...

We are around 25 tubes. Still a way to go until we reach at least 60 tubes.
Regarding price - still waiting for update from KR Audio.

Count me in for a pair.

Quick status update:
Lampizator themselves (thank you guys!) will take care of handling this order.
If everything goes well then KR 242 tubes will be produced by KR Audio and delivered to Lampizator HQ either in May or June this year.
We can place our orders with Lampizator directly rather than KR Audio or me.

Regarding the expected price, I will give you an update once I have some news on this from Lampizator.

For me personally this is a good news that I can purchase KR242 soon.
I feel sorry for all of you guys having a Horizon instead ;), as you will not be able to enjoy KR242 from new production anymore :)
