Taiko Audio SGM Extreme : the Crème de la Crème

Looks like we’ll launch at Williams High End Fall 2023.
I can't tell you how many members from across the USA as well as international who have expressed interest to attend and have already sent RSVP's for whenever the event takes place . It will be a memorable event

Let us know when tickets go on sale!
Just an RSVP is all that is required. There are some very nice and inexpensive hotels located within a 10 minute drive of my house and festivities planned each evening in the honor of our leader so music all day and food and libations each evening. Looking forward to meeting all of the Taiko zealots. I am also hoping that other members of the Taiko team will be able to join us as well

In Feb 2022 I did a similar event with Lukasz Fikus and Fred Ainsley with the soft launch of the Horizon. That went over a weekend and there were 45 attendees so a full house all weekend. And FWIW Fred and Lukasz have expressed desire to attend the Taiko event as well as they both consider the recent innovations by Taiko to be remarkable. I know that all people attending have given the main reason that they want to hear the new Extreme with BPS as many are potential users of this new Extreme

Finally, and most important this event has been on my calendar swell as Emile's calendar since last August but has been delayed many times as Emile continues to struggle with supply chain issues. So presently this is tentatively planned for end of the summer. I also think several reviewers have also expressed a desire to attend and review what they heard

I'm stunned as these last few posts have resulted in several members reaching out to RSVP even though we still have no firm date. This is truly a tribute to Emile and all things Taiko

although there is no firm date yet as it all comes down to parts availability and so far the projection is at the end of summer. Having said that people are now asking me for closest airport and hotels. Once a date is known I will post all the info but the best airport to fly into is John Wayne airport (SNA) which is a 20 minute drive to my house. Failing that Long Beach (LGB) would be the next closest, then LAX and finally SAN. As I stated there are many inexpensive but nice hotels in the immediate area

I can’t attend but we are doing another demo of Taiko (vs. Grimm vs N30SA). The Grimm will be here next week. The Taiko has already been here and sounded amazing. We will hear it again in a couple of weeks. I won’t go into specifics yet, but it looks as if we may be changing servers soon.

Hello Joe = Do you have the new Taiko switch and NIC? They add a startling improvement to an already startling presentation of music, enjoy!

No, I didn’t get to demo them with the Extreme. But if I order the Extreme the network card and the switch will be ordered! However with all the work Emile and CO. have done, the Extreme sounds excellent even without them!

We have two more combos to listen too.

(1) Grimm MU1
(2) Aurender + Roon.

Aurender + Roon is already in testing.

Does the Extreme you have been listening to run the latest version of XDMS ?

I’m not sure. Our friend, the owner, set up the Taiko. It sounded marvelous for sure. I doubt the Grimm MU1 can match it, much less surpass it. But we shall see next week - I think it will be here Wednesday.

Our Aurender N30SA sounds very good as well. The Roon update for it will be coming out soon. Though it will probably be very good, I’m thinking it won’t be an improvement over the Conductor. I was told that I should add the Aurender MC10 or MC20 Clock to it. it’s supposed to give the best elevation of sound available for the Aurender…

Here’s a video explaining the different Aurender models. Looking under the hood of the different Aurenders and the Extreme reveals just how outstanding the build quality of the Taiko really is. Emile overbuilt his product to the extreme (pun intended).

@Audire I will say as someone who recently added the switch, network card and XDMS, it’s a whole different league of quality if you weren’t listening with these.

It went from “this is really great, I don’t think it can get better” to “this is scary real” in my system after those 3 upgrades with no other changes, almost all related to ambiance and sonic space definition to my ears.

It would be interesting to compare the upcoming Extreme BPS with alternatives in a higher price bracket.

I have no doubt that in terms of neutrality (i.e. lack of coloration) the new Extreme will be hard to beat, not even by higher priced offerings.

If I grasped Emile's choices correctly, he tends to lean towards neutrality. Resulting in a source (the Extreme) that disappears in favour of the rest of the system (and its own sound, its own coloration).

The best source is the one we can't notice :)

My guess is that he likes realism, organic sound, musicality that is not overly coloured but not a studio like wire with gain.

That’s from what I hear with the extreme and the switches

get ready for the ride of your life because it gets even better and I assume you don't even have XDMS

A few little goodies for the weekend. From left to right:

- mAP-lite access port with battery power pack
- Extreme network card
- Extreme switch
- Hynes SR7 dual reg turbo lps and Sablon Evo dc cable
