I used to get news from Avantgarde, as a clubmember, but can't find the news...
From Purist Audio(FB) interviews with Jérôme Andre, Avantgarde's international sales manager.
But of course I doubt that he is still in this job, because he's the same person (according to the photos sent by Uwiik) who admitted at the recent AG show in Indonesia that Kondo is much better than the iTron in all aspects!

Poeh… difficult question because it were two separate sessions, a few months between them. Second difficulty was that I had to get used to iTron. It was not love at first sight ehm hearing. But if you press me
I would say AVM pre (don’t know model) in combination with iTron and using a Audionote UK dac/transport. This was certainly better than the streaming session. I hope to be ready for the Duo GT iTron at the end of the year. Ready financially I mean.

BTW Jérôme André was the man behind the Audio Aero La Fontaine and La Source projects. I still keep the former, is a very good sacd/cd player and usb DAC and can be upgraded by Vermeer Audio which also provide a service for those two AA models.

I see you have AG Trios with REL Carbons. A few questions.
1. Is this a prior generation AG Trio (not sure what LE26 means)
2. Are you using just the main Trio 'towers' and not the AG basshorn subs?
3. Where do you cross over the REL Carbons?
1. It's so called Luxury Edition limited to 26 pairs of Trio G2 series before the introduction of Trio G3 owned by Todd ( @sbnx) .The main differences to the regular G2 Trios are : more rigid frame, better capacitors and internal cabling ( gold/silver afaik).

2. Yes, I have purchased only Trio towers without any Avantgarde subs. The small 231 subs ( used during soundrebels test ) are imho suboptimal for Trios and I did not have space in my place to install basshorns . So I decided to try the third party subs and finished with 4 REL Carbon Special. I shared my thoughts here :

3. One of the main reasons I decide to buy REL Carbon Special subs is that they reproduce the bass up to 120 Hz and match perfectly the natural roll-of of the big horn which is - according to the technical specification - at 100 Hz, but according to many opinions it's more like 110-120 Hz.
The downside of REL subs is that there is no DSP available so I had to tune them by ear , the advantge is that the bass quality of carbon membranes is much better than this from 231 AG subs. They are also very well finished in piano black which is important in our living room because my setup is placed next to the piano. For sure the AG basshorns remain the best solution but I am quite happy with the sound I have despite the fact that this is a kind of compromise.

Thanks for sharing. I find your comment regarding getting used to the itron sound very interesting. I trust my first impressions 90 percent of the time in this hobby, but feel similarly about the Trios: Trios attack is SO REALISTIC with the itrons... yet, I am not convinced and need to spend more with different amps, especially SETs to see how much of the Attack I would miss, vs potential gain of more life-like SET tone for my taste ...
The Audio Note digital is special... yet we got to be careful mentioning that we like the sound of CD transports better than that streamers, as guys who have spent BIG money on streamers get their feelings hurt because others find CD transports more emotionally more satisfying.
Good luck on saving up for them. Between the likely positive reviews and inflation, I hope they don't raise they prices and set you back in your plan.

I was just saying to someone that I really admired what I heard of the AG Trio G3 (with dual basshorns)...and given space constraints could see this being an incremental buy: Trios first with Funk Audio Dual 18.2 subs (definitely very very linear up past 150hz but which also have extremely powerful performance down to 10hz). Much more physically compact...and long-term with the basshorns, I could imagine keeping the 18.2s for sub-28hz performance.
I think that if you upgrade to G3, you will no longer have problem of the large size of the previous gen Basshorns, because if you choose a pair of single-drive type Spacehorns and place them vertically, their depth will be even less than the REL subs (492mm vs 539mm), and they will easily fit behind your rack like this..
Hello everyone. I decided to post a video about integrating a subwoofer with the Trios. It is in my typical rambling fashion. i know there is stuff I left out but I think it is enough to get the gist of what is going on. I edited down the measurements to just the minimum to communicate the path to find a suitable location. If anyone has any specific questions about one of the measurements or how to interpret them or any of that stuff just ask.

I had to get used to the iTron but once I had, I have to agree with Roy Gregory. It simple is the best way to go. Not many dealers will agree with this for the obvious reasons (lack of profit). Suppose, just suppose you really want to adapt the sound, you still can do that with your choice of preamp.

No, it is related to the German distributor, I just put it as an example of small space and vertical Spacehorns. I hope I will get AG G3 in the future, either a duo mezzo or trios.
Well…. If I remember correctly, this set was on sale April last year (I think by a Scandinavian dealer) because they could no get it working perfectly in this room. Not because of the bass but the width was not wide enough. Which is probably right. Hope you will get a G3, like I hope to as well
