No it’s not. I think you need to look up what are “originals”. Mehta era Decca narrow band were never in that category, though some might have good sonics.
Which category? Mehta Planets 1971 pressing on Decca narrowband is the first UK release of this recording.
If you talk about great movie original/ remakes, you are talking about great originals like Hitchcock’s Psycho, scarface, etc but just because someone makes a fast and furious remake does not make the original great.
Original Deccas are usually earlier era, SXL 2xxx, late 50s early 60s, A few SXL 6xxx. You will then in some cases also have to look at the engineers for particular pressings by looking up the matrix
Mehta never was considered in those quality originals. The fact that Mehta in 1971 has an original does not matter. Every pressing has an original, whether made in 1930 or 2000, “originals” is a loose term term for discussing a select group, not all original pressings ever made

Michael Rabin was unquestionably one of the greatest violinists who ever lived (1936-1972). The problem is that he only lived for 35 years and in his case, talent and tragedy co-existed due to a neurological illness that was poorly defined but seriously effected his ability to perform in his later years. The other notable issue is that many of his recorded works in the 50's were not of the highest quality. This one however is quite good and is on my "desert island" list for the performance alone. I never heard the legendary mono recording of this piece from 1958 which is supposedly the greatest version ever recorded and has caused many to proclaim "we have another Paganini". The EMI recording is from 1959 but I'll take this one any day without complaints. I regret saying this but it is on YouTube although I dare say the quality makes some of of the WBF's videos look good by comparison. This LP however is a no-brainer recommendation and defines the apex of the violin art for me.

The MoFi limited ed DSD64 one. Yeah yeah I know, but hey since I can’t get it straight off the tapes this would have to do. It’s still really really good though.
Bummer that the warp on disc 1 makes the outer groove skip despite my clamp. If not for the warp the pressing is a winner.
DG TOS again. The best piano sound I’ve ever heard on vinyl. Two discs, 45 rpm. Fantastic playing too of course.
