Axpona 2024 who is going and why?

The San Francisco Audiophile Foundation (shortening to the Audiophile Foundation this year) will be holding a meetup and mixer Saturday night at Axpona from 6-8pm in the MoFi room 336. A short talk about plans for SFAF will happen, and some excellent Chicago style pizza will be served along with some fine Oregon wine to take the edge off your day! Personally, I'm looking forward to some real Chicago pizza! I may also bring some Japanese Whisky for shots and sipping
A number of industry folks will be in attendance, I hope I can meet a few more WBF frienz while I am there too!
Interesting that the San Francisco Audio Foundation would be associating their brand with mobile fidelity, that misled people and had to pay $25,000,000.

PS. and they humiliated the audiophile darling, Michael Fremer, who ended misleading is readers and took a huge hit to his reputation

First of all, this guy is not Italian. Second, he can’t even pronounce the name correctly. But at least he recognizes that it’s good pie.

Not sure what is real horns or wave guidesI'm curious if anyone knows if any of the following will be represented at the show...? I couldn't find them listed in the AXPONA link. I know that I probably am sounding pretty darn stupid by asking this, but I wonder if they might be being used in some room systems by other manufacturers and that might be why I couldn't find them being listed?

the huge Asian horns have great potential

I'll there for three days, going to check the Various planer type speakers like Magnepan, Volti Audio for their horn Speakers, and the fully active YG Acoustics Speakers, Vimberg is always a favorite of mine too.

The 2023 AXPONA Show: Jonathan Valin on Speakers $30k and Up - Judging by the number of displays and attendees, I’d call AXPONA 2023 a roaring success—not quite Munich High End level, especially in the way of new product introductions, but approaching it.

The undisputed winner of oddest loudspeaker at AXPONA was the $49k Orchestalls KMD 700R—a weird, multi-box, cone loudspeaker in which each of the boxes is individually articulated via the arms of a large adjustable stand. The funny part was that it actually sounded very good—amazingly coherent considering the number of cones and boxes in play. Rich, expansive, and full range with fairly flat and well-defined bass in a tiny room, it was high among the most interesting intros at this (or any) show.
I am curious how it sounds.

I read through the organization's History/Vision/Mission and you all have collectively piled a lot on your plate.

Jays video about not allowing negative remarks makes a lot of sense , you cant have industry involved people making negative comments about rooms at such a show, report , film and move on , paying show goers can say what they want on their respective forums and platforms ..!
The effort and expense to put on and or attend an audio show , demo product and then have some silly arse comment from someone selling other products out of the industry is disastrous at best , its cancer really ..!

Do bear in mind whether or not the absence of negative remarks can be rationalized, show organizers have commented that there is no such policy in place, blanket or otherwise. No member of the media, and I am one of such, has ever been made aware of such a directive.
Yes, the truth can sometimes hurt, and I would posit that each respective publication may very well define the content and mission of a "show report" differently. For some reason unbeknownst to me there are manufacturers, on their websites, who will clump reviews of their products and show blurbs together. I hold that the latter is NOT a review and should be filed/maintained separately. Is there a need for critical commentary in a "show report"? In my estimation, that's best reserved for a proper analysis/review, but that's just me.

some to actually buy products and get to atleast see them playing.
talk to others at the show to get alt views
I think most tend to lean twards a sound they like as in there room.
this is most definitely not correct in most cases so these people are the hall mark of negativity
then add cost so many are there to tear down rooms.
lastly myself to enjoy rooms , confirm what I like or think was good. talk to folk on there choices
I’m always amused at some who say a room is great where I felt it’s not or backwards
I’ve asked buds hey go to this room with me now I love this room.
then look at there faces. this is the moment of pure honest reaction. but it’s private and not to be posted
But I’m sure I’ve broken this rule myself
the last part is read what others so called experts say. it’s not to be confused about right or wrong
it’s info on that persons views.
it’s a major tell as some here comment what’s right or wrong
videos as an example.
this hobby has many layers to it and events exposes some of them.
like Ron is a dealer well I’m sure even what this means.
but I’ve met him and talk many times and always seemed genuine to me. Likes his you tube stuff.
But now I’m guessing is what he did right as I know a few people who sell. it’s nit fir me to judge nor care. but I can’t not care and we each are allowed our views.
we who post here are not the average people to attend shows this makes us closer to the fire.
lastly enjoy the music with a friend we get to hear and watch others faces.
I’ve always been the person who looks at others a bit away to see there tells. I don’t play poker but I’m sure there guessing anyway.
do we where a name tag ? Sounds cheap but how can we know who anyone is ?
My thought is I’ve turned on a cell phone for this event.
im going to post it here for all. it gets turned off a month or so after the show and an email as well.

IMO that video is just wrong. If he has some proof that this is true then he should present it. I can state for a fact and all of you can verify that there are many bad comments about shows and rooms at EVERY SINGLE SHOW! At every single show there are lists of the best and sometimes the worst rooms. There are video's made by youtubers telling people why this and that show suck and how the Industry is abusing them.
None of these people have been banned or even singled out.
All the press visit and comment at every show. Axpona this year will be no exception and there will probably be somehere aroiund 100 press credentials given out. That means free access and perhaps even more perks. So IMO this video needs serious explanation and real facts if anyone is going to take it seriously.
FREE SPEECH is a right not something that authority grants us.
