I want to purchase a top qualily (Below US$1K if possible) short 48Gbps HDMI Cable. Considering perhaps the Audioquest Vodka 48 or Audioquest Thunderbird 48.

The cable will be used to connect my Appletv X to my Audiopraise VanityPRO. The Vanity Pro is connected to the projector with an Audioquest Cherry Cola 15m hdmi cable.

Has anyone done an audio and/or video comparision of HDMI cables? Best Hdmi cable? Please share

Carbon sounds better than the Vodka in my experience.

According to that mysterious loudspeaker manufacturer the Carbon is the best in their whole HDMI line up.

I recently compared the Wireworld 1 meter Platinum Starlight HDMI to three different Blue Jeans 3 meter cables (series1, 4 and FE). Going from the ATVX to an LG TV.
The Blue Jeans FE series is by far the best. It is the sharpest and most detailed with the best color saturation.
Note : The B.J. FE series is 18G 4k.
By comparison the W.W. looks washed out and not nearly as sharp. Actually it is the worst of the bunch.
1M W.W. = $800.
3M Blue Jeans FE = $21.50.

There is another company who makes HDMI cables:

Lanedri cables are made with the same process as the QSA HDMI cables.
I've neither seen them or tried them. But if there is one HDMI cable worth trying and comparing to others, it is this one.

I had tried many hdmi, I ncluding all the top Wireworld, Audioquest and Nordost hdmi cables (except for Valhalla hdmi).

The best is the Mapleshade Vivlink Plus Mk3. Best for audio and video. It’s only in one length, 2m, and it’s only $220 usd. It kills the rest.

I have had all 3 versions of this cable, cannot recommend it highly enough. It has a delicate construction and needs to be routed so its not really touching anything, if possible. This is by design.

For audio data connections:

Tubulus Concentus HDMI (for dual ES-LINK4 and v5 communications in Esoteric Grandioso P1/D1 and P1X/D1X stacks).

Tubulus Concentus I2S friends with server/streamer + DACs tell me are also excellent as did my listening impressions when I heard their systems before and after.

I've owned and also demoed many top-flight HDMI cables over years of home theater and more recent years for audio. These are excellent and they unseated several more expensive and popular brand cables.

Audioquest Dragon 48 is the best for both audio and video. Not under $1k but it’s the best for sure!

Which WW Platinum was it in your comparison? Was it the latest 48 version?

Hi Paul, which hdmi cables did you compare it to? Which one was your #2 choice? Thanks
I was using the Dragon specifically for I2S and music duty. I stopped using the DAC with I2S so for 3 months I used the Dragon HDMI with my Panasonic UDP-9000 HD Blu-ray player and the picture was spectacular. I compared to AQ Diamond, AQ Coffee, AQ Vodka 48, RAL Prophecy Cryo-silver (audio only) Wireworld Platnum starlight 7, Blue Jeans HDMI

Audio only the RAL was the second best.
Video wise the AQ Firebird but the Dragon was significantly better than both IMO. Very expensive but I have a contact that can save you some money if you want to order new.

I also liked the Blue Jeans FE cable but can't claim to have compared it to more expensive cables. Frankly for $25 you probably owe it to yourself to give it a shot.

I completely agree! Great cable for the money! I use one on my cable box with good results!

Add the Coherence Systems Vivid product to your HDMI or Coax cables and you won’t need to change cables. The best add on to enhance your tv or audio experience! You will be surprised!
