Ahh - bummer...
So to leverage XDMI (in my case with the MSB Daughter Card for Pro ISL to remove USB from my stack) I need the Olympus IO and I will then move the Taiko Network NIC from Extreme to Olympus IO and have the new XDMI + MSB daughter card deployed in Olympus IO?
I will trade in...
Beautiful industrial design Team Taiko! Apple-level - meant as a positive...
Sweet with the upgrade path for us Extreme-owners - much appreciated.
But - now I want to climb up Olympus and visit the gods living there!
All for the split of forums here at WBF - it was unavoidable for reasons already stated.
Also - the Taiko download-section has also become more professional, better reflecting the overall Taiko organisation.
BUT - I for one really appreciate the direct interactions with @Taiko Audio here in...
I sent out email request Saturday 23:27 to Taiko Support to get above update
Today, Sunday at 09:32 I got the message from @Taiko Audio himself that the update was performed
First - another piece of evidence to the simply outstanding support-level of Taiko - BRAVO!
I do not listen to Roon -...
Intuitively - 4) 'should' be best as it has the lowest value for Ping (indicating the lowest amount of upstream network congestion and/or route changes) and hence the lowest measured Jitter-value.
But - could it be that the actual processing of traffic inside the Router which is lowest in 1)...
Great and thanks for the update @Taiko Audio! Since MSB hopefully have most of the required HW available as part of their ProUSB-adapter that many of MSB DAC users (like me) are using today that part of the solution should be relatively 'easy'. But - as always devil is in the details - fingers...

@Taiko Audio while we are waiting for the Router (I'll be in second batch so October for me) I am curious regarding estimated availability for the TACDA - ProISL with the...
Aha - that makes sense, then MSB will keep IP for their PRO ISL.
Cool - so a proper collaboration then with:
- Taiko doing the TACD PCIe Output Board + design principles for the Modular Daughter Board
- MSB doing the implementation of the Modular Daughter Board for Pro ISL
I am really looking...
I have some questions regarding the coming TACD PCIe Output Board and the MSB integration...
Extract from Taiko's Site
The Taiko-designed TACD PCIe Output Board will feature a modular build to support a range of outputs using either a D/A or D/D daughterboard, providing a single output type per...
I just got the new new NIC up and running...
What a premium feeling it was unboxing it - the sheer weight and appearance of the card just radiates quality (as did the packaging) - the fit/seating is perfect.
And then the sound...
Amazed at how much better the new new NIC (with updated...
Question Regarding Taiko BPS
"For safety purposes, all connected devices will need to have a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip
installed with a Taiko key communicating with the BPS to enable a DC output."
Comment - an elegant solution to retain control over what devices that can be hooked up...
Yes.
I have synched up with latest posts - temperature protection sounds like a solid lead for root cause and should be fixable via firmware update, will likely be a lot of remote-sessions required to actually deploy the updated firmware though...
Bummer - so two issues stacked, first some...
I just found out that my bracket was sent to the wrong place - I will pick it up on Monday and will have it installed on Tuesday night.
It will be a long wait but I know from previous intermittent SQ experiences that it will be worth the wait...
Windows OS keep an error count on each network interface, once it crosses a certain threshold the OS disables the network interface.
This is likely what happens - the flawed bracket yields a non perfect seating -> causing some network errors -> over time the threshold is crossed -> lost contact...
And that is exactly the aspect that was reduced (not lost!) when I had to revert to the old network card due to the bracket-issue.
Especially local DSD playback of well-known tracks gave me a new (hitherto absent) feeling of being emotionally connected that was just awesome.
Eagerly waiting to...
Agree 100%
The new network card had a surprisingly big impact on local file playback.
I listened late last night to some of my DSD256 local files, I have never been so engaged before - bass rendering and micro-details stood out - clear signs of lowered system noise floor.
I heard a guy in the...
I can just concur with the what others have already stated - the vast majority of SQ improvement (for streaming use case) is there also when using the old network card, it is the switch and the DAC-connection that is the key, the network card to a much lesser extent.
So - using the old network...
I have made a work-around "bracket" (see pic) by:
- Removing the flawed copper-bracket
- Using cable-tie on DC-power cables to create down-force for rear end of card
- Using a piece of gaffa-tape on top of card to create down-force for mid-part of the card
This makes the connection last longer...
I am one of the affected by the "bracket issue", I must say that as usual - Taiko's transparency and customer support is nothing but extra ordinary!
I will eagerly await the new bracket as I have been able to, intermittently, sample the stupendous SQ upgrade that Switch + Network Card yields.
