G'day maties, greetings from down unda.
Just went through that previous write up I did in Nov 2017... oh boy what a drama!
Anyway, thought I'd mention this particular one leaving out the subsequent ones between 2017... all the way upto 2023. So it's certainly been a while and post covid, a lot...
Well maties, eventually made it there & back.
It was a very tiresome journey, I just hate long haul flights, can't stand it! The service was great and all that but after 3.5hrs I started getting leg cramps and passing too much gas... even though I stood up walked around for about an hour it...
Greetings from down unda.
Just thought I'd share a few thoughts, especially after this incident. As usual on my travels, I bumped into a kid, no more than 5yrs old. He was in that "why" stage...
So as we got talking on the topic of submarines... the covo ended with the recent tragedy of Ocean...
Just wanted to greet everyone a safe, happy and new year filled with great music. Look after your loved ones, look after yourselves and most of all, enjoy those fine tunes!
Big woof'n from Down unda,
Cheers, and have a very very jolly one.

G'day maties, from Down unda.
Just checking on a few things, as expert advice will be much appreciated here.
The time has come to upgrade my digital playback system, which is a McIntosh SACD/CD player MCD301. Although it's certainly not on par with the rest of my gear (CJ amplification and...
Well here goes another one maties, from the land down unda, although not made in Aus but made in the land of the rising sun, Japan!
A very good mate of mine, who also happens to have CLX's with a fine analog rig consisting of Allnic phonostage, separate power supplies and the fine Linn LP12...
G'day maties, trust everyone is enjoying the music inspite of this crazy virus going on... corona whatever?
Purchased a few nice LPs from a great store, some very finely recorded music on Opus, Eric Bibb- just like love, LP album, superb!
Anyway, this was my only day off just before a long 6...
Good news and better news...
The ART27A has finally arrived up in QLD. It was paired with an ET5 preamp driving Joseph Audio speakers, not very efficient and quite a load..
The ART27A took total grip on the speakers and the overall performance was absolutely stunning! According to my good mate...
I was looking for the particular MF2500 series tag... Anyway this one I'll keep as brief as possible, since it's now past 5am, and just about to finish up my late night / early am session.
One of the monoblocks had to go upto QLD for a service, so my trusted good CJ mate lent me this SS beast...
Greetings from down unda!
We are supposed to be in winter now, and other parts of the world are mostly in summer, hence why we're referred to as down under I guess... Some days it reaches 17 then 19c and suddenly plummets to 4c at night. Quite cold indeed for a warm furry dog. So speaking of...
Greetings & G'day to all,
Well I must say this time round was quite different, with an added twist to the Big Mac!
So what can 50 grand ($AUD) worth provide you in ribbon panels? I will tell you, it can take you to the live event!
Having heard these things earlier in Feb, driven by the...
G'day Maties, and greetings from down unda...
we're having a blast of all sorts of whether but mostly hot! Dry and sweaty... On some days it hits 42c then drops to 14c and tapers off to 21c. Definitely not good for audio, listening through tubes, the listening area gets hot.
Now that things...
G'day Maties, greetings from Melb;
Although I have been extremely pleased with how the system is settling in very nicely, especially the CLX's driven with CJ monoblocks, and having placed in the Genalex Gold Lions 6922 driver tubes on both monoblocks, they're sounding superb!
All was going...
G'day maties, Greetings from Melbourne!
It has been a while since I've had a tube failure in a short span of time, and this time it was not one but two! Virtually died off around the same time. These were the EH 6922's ordered previously for the CJ LP125m monoblocks, and installed in Aug. Just...
G'day to all, music lovers, enthusiasts and fanatics, the time has come to proclaim my insanity...
Through a few decades of learning about the highend, having purchased various systems thought to have been top notch, only to realize not so as I lived with these systems and maintenance issues...
G'day maties, fellow audiophiles and ladies...
As their slogan goes... "Making the Connection" hot-dam do they make the connection!
Just for trial and the heck of it, once in a lifetime (for me at least) I tried the Odin's- no words... just speechless, and especially when it costs nearly...
As their slogan goes " it just sounds right"...
I've had far too many amplifiers in various types of systems over a few decades. Previously owned CJ dealerships, started out as a hobby grew into a passion or as the good wife says an "obsession" which has helped me into a varied form of...
G’day to all, & Greetings from Melbourne, the love of Conrad Johnson & Benz Micro!
It seems like the BM-Glider SM has now reached the 20hr mark and over… and I’m ecstatic to report the tremendous aspects of sound quality and overall improvement on the RP3.
I’ve just had another 4am session...
G'day maties,
After quite a while, I just had to venture towards a MC cartridge, since nearly everyone I knew & place I visited, there was a MC cart on their TT's amongst their top end gear.
I am now quite well versed with the MM's and used many Ortofons with great success, ending up with...
G’day maties!
From down unda, where the grass is green and the soil is red… and of course Melbourne- the best city in the world!
Been a while since my last post, cannot even remember when, feels like a year or two.
This is a dedication to mostly Conrad Johnson specialists, and to those...
Well well well, I must say the past few weeks has truly been a wonderful ride. Three major events took place in the world of high-end audio; One that placed me back into a realistic perspective, one that made me realise the hype, and the final being a truly special experience, perhaps one that I...
G'day maties, just wanted to report some "honest uncolored coverage"
The Melbourne Hi Fi show; hi fi? I think a more appropriate term would be “low fi”...
On a scale of 10, I give it a strong 3! – 1 for good parking, 2 for good accessibility & 3 for clean toilets, that’s about it!
First...
G'day maties! gents & sheila's...
Just hurt my back overdoing things at work, out for the count for few days...
On a positive note, and before I could even hardly walk, let alone get out of bed, there was something I wanted to post but just didn't quite have the time, until now!
About two...
Ok I finally got the chance to sit down and listen to an awesome combination of gear, which was obviously quite different from what this owner previously had; (MG20.7, MC452 with the GAT pre). He had retained the Kondo Overture for a while now, about 3 years and I have tried the overture on my...
This is a special dedication to all music lovers, enthusiasts, audiophiles and fanatics;
I was wondering how to come up with a title on this one but it hit me once I got home.
Music definitely cleanses your soul and has healing powers!
It’s been an agonising past month with our little...
G'day mates, trust your 2017 is looking promising so far...
Nearly a month has already kicked off and CJ are already on the band wagon.
Looks like two new amps in the Classic Line up- Classic 60 version two; and another version offering 120w. According to CJ, both can be ordered in SE...
Greetings music enthusiasts, audiophiles and electrostatic lovers- especially Martin Logan owners.
That time has come, and I thought it would not happen so soon. I have finally parted with my Quads, and closed the deal for a brand new pair of Ethos. The speakers arrive on Monday!
From the...
G'day mates, from down unda Melbourne, the best city in the world!
We are having our HiFi show as I write this, starting today up till Sunday. Won't be able to attend as I work during weekends. Hope it turns out ok though compared to the last one organised by Stereo Net...
Just thought I'd...
I’ve been on a quest searching for the ultimate match in amplification for my Quads for a while now, since acquiring them in 2010. As the years passed, I was tempted to change my Quads to Analysis Audio (nearly got carried away there!) and maggies MG3.7i & MG20.7 (still a very good ribbon...
