Hi Tony - ?Do you have any recommendations?

So far I have been very impressed by Win's Saskia room, (nice to finally meet Win!), Doshi's system, and this is the first time the Wilsons have sounded musical to me. Volti/Border Patrol was very good, Salk/Van Alstine also
impressive at lower price points, and Audiokinesis was very worth checking out!

That registration process looks to be a nightmare. Is there no pre-registration?

Everyone you saw in line had done on line registration and paid. This nightmare happens every year. It's poorly organized and they just don't seem to get it.

I waited for almost half an hour only to find not only was I in the wrong line but they hadn't even printed most of the badges and they had already run out of lanyards.

Marjorie needs to find a way to download your badge online after registering and then pick up your lanyard anywhere at the show.

And that really shouldn't be too difficult! You walk in, show your badge and they give you the lanyard. Done!

One would think John. Everyone complains every year only to find the same the following year.

You will enjoy the Wilson XLFs with the Thor Hammers. I ran over to the Hyatt yesterday. That demo is a treat.

However, the Doshi - Alexia room is one of my favorites. I spent some time yesterday there listening to some really good vinyl, courtesy of Myles collection and later on listening to tape. Best I've heard the Alexias sound.

The truly ridiculous thing is that those people paying and registering on-site often have a shorter wait than those who have pre-registered and already paid!

There's a very simple solution, use barcodes.

Attendees registering online print out a ticket and quickly check in by scanning their ticket barcode. All check-ins are synced with the servers so you can see who showed up. Check-ins can also be synced across multiple devices, so you can have multiple entry points at exhibitor rooms, gathering valuable demographic data to help promote next year's show.

Of course it could all be paperless with the use of smartphones, but there are probably senior attendees that don't own a smartphone.

I thought show organizers did this deliberately, so they could take pics of the masses of people lined up waiting to get in, for marketing purposes. :)
They could use an electronic pass, i mean it isn't like it's a show about technology or anything.
Some day, i envision a time when we'll all be able to communicate wirelessly, no matter where we are; we'll be flying around in little personal jets and robots will be vacuuming the carpet.
I think my anti-ray hat is on too tight. They're brain controlling me again!

Can someone start a dedicated picture thread of the show?

Yo, dawg, you didn't go? So, there are two of us holding down the fort. :)

me three. rmaf looks like the best of the bunch, ill have to make an effort next year. the Newport show is literally walking distance from my office so for me its a no-brainer.
