A little High Resolution Fun.....

Actually, there are two places where the band member says something; the first time is about 2 minutes before the more easily audible one, but the drums are a little louder and I can't make out what he is saying there. The voice and position in the sound stage are the same as the later, more easily discernible comment.

Has anyone come across a original/re-mastered LP pressing as good or better than the clarity of the CD version in this title?

I have the LP as well. But I'm pretty sure it's a first issue. Definitely sounds like it. It predates me by a fair amount. I inherited from an older friend. So I don't know if it's worn out or just a bad pressing. Either way, CD is far superior.

I know I have the LP, but don't know it's condition and it is in a pile somewhere, a victim of lazy disorganized audiophilia.

Hi I am new to this great forum.

My guess, after listening yesterday is that it is the bass player Eugene Wright that says: "Now you`re on". It is clear to me that the bass player is standing behind Morrello, just as on the cover picture.

Great solo!

I thought once Amir heard it over YouTube the game was over. How much resolution do you need in your system if you can hear it over YouTube??

The tougher test is to figure out what Eugene Wright is saying at 5:40 - 5:41

That's OK, Jep123. It has still not been made public what was said and exactly when it was said. Now it looks like another question has been posed for an even harder test. With that said, no biggie.

Oh, my manners. Welcome to the forum! :)

"Paul is dead" at 2:13

Of the handful of tracks like this that I have on hand, where there is something very subtle in the mix, this one is the easiest to hear. Though I must admit that I was surprised to find that it is evident even from the Youtube clip.

rbbert is correct in that the section at 5:40 is more difficult and part of the fun (for me at least) was to see how many people picked up on that one as well.

For those playing along, jep123's guess is in the neighborhood but not correct......

Also, now that there has been something concrete suggested, it would be interesting to see how it influences what other people hear just through the power of suggestion.
I have a friend who insists that he knows what some of the Ewoks are saying in "Return of the Jedi". Now, I know he's pretty much off his rocker on this. But damned if I don't "hear" exactly what he claims they are saying every time I watch that movie now! I think it's funny. But I also find it very fascinating.

Anyway....... Merry Christmas everyone!
Play on!
