A Visit to Mik Bhavnani - Unique Audio UK

Utterly stunned by the "system" pictures, and the subsequent responses... unless they are in jest

Which responses stun you, Ack?

(I must say no more, I must say no more)

In case some don't understand the reference, the term "mad as a hatter" is derived from the fact that many hat makers did indeed get sick from the mercury vapors in the solutions used to cure felt. If you are indeed mad, I hope its from ingesting something far less toxic and more enjoyable than mercury vapor!

This should be a concern to builders/owners of the famous mercury turntable, the best turntable in the world if driven by an even more famous Papst synchronous motor! :)

Surely the best sounding ones did not include the sealing oil layer!

A beautiful mind.

My wife gets ratty with me in my audio lair too. There are things everywhere but I just keep telling her that the creative environment can’t wait for tidying and that silliness. I have experiments to be done lol.

I know this scenario all too well!!

i think it's the contrast with 'proper' Peter's 'Norman Rockwell' New England sensibilities.

personally; i think waaaaaay over the top is just about right. someone has to hold down one end of the bell curve.

will all due and earned respect to Peter. he lives the life we might all want to live.

I can’t tell if you’re speaking for me or speaking for Ack or referring to some other person’s comments. I will say my listening environment is completely different from Tasos’.

I appreciate Mik’s “working environment” and would love to have the opportunity to hear music in that room. The set up does not seem to follow audiophile conventions, that is for sure. It seems more like a work zone to assess the influence of different gear.

Can Mik discuss some of the modifications to his Aesthetix Io? I'm guessing there is a lot of tuning going on with that unit.

Makes Rhapsody's room look barren

Sadly all the builders of the is TT are no longer with us to describe the sound! o_O

Is an interesting thing. I am a health economist in my training and career and publish a lot of papers each year. Mainly innovative methods pieces. The most innovative minds in my field almost always have crazy desks and look dishevelled :)

SME service all their tonearms.

Sadly not the early ones David and there's talk of not doing the 3012r and 3009r

What did Steve Jobs's desk look like? Mark Zuckerberg's? Ron Burgundy's?

I used to ignore "clean desk policies" that were the norm in big pharma...and they let me get away with it because of my productivity...

Just out of curiousity, are you on Research Gate? I have about 30 publications published in peer review journals to date (about 1400 citations)...the last ones were a bit over a year ago.

Yes of course. I don’t know how I appeared there but needed to check something the other day and found some of my artificial intelligence publications organised there. Medline obviously too.

Cheers
