Advice needed!

After my tt had spent a few years in it‘s box, or better … boxes, I had the room to reassembe it again.

Problem is the air reservoir box of the Airtangent 10b arm.

The problem is the inlet of the reservoir where you plug in the pvc pipe bringing the air from the compressor.
It is leaking air, no pressure build up, no lateral movement of arm possible.
I think air escapes between the two metal parts of the inlet. There is no rubber O ring.

Does anybody have experience with this arm or this kind of connector?
Thank you for your advice!

the connection looks like CPC but normally there are O-rings on it...abit strange.
I haven't seen any like that yet. If you can't find anything, swap it for a CPC coupling + plug.
Exsample available in all imaginable versions iin metal or teflon.teaser_lc_neu.jpg

Replacing o rings would be the simplest cure.
Does anybody know if there had been o rings here?

Shouldn’t the o rings sit in those ridges?

That looks like an easy on-off connector, no O-ring, at least not one that I can see. To connect, you just push the host in; to disconnect, you pull out the host while keep pushing the blue color ring into the body.

If the pump inside the box is working (you can feel the slight vibration through the box), then the problem maybe the airhost inside the box has cracked due to age. In such case you will need to replace the airhost. I have a Micro Seiki pump having the same problem and waiting to have the airhost replaced.

Hope this helps

Well, Iwill replace both connectors. 4 and 6mm, accepting a hose from each side.
Festo? Other makers?

Hi engadin, I am using SMC connectors:

BTW, I love airbearing linear tracking arms, but have never seen an Airtangent in person. From photos on the internet, I believe they have different versions using high or low air pressure bearings, is that correct? Your 10b seems to have a high pressure bearing, what pressure are you using?

Thanks !

The one recommended in the manual.
I will have to check when I return back home … in three weeks.

Thanks a lot for this info!
I will try those Festo connectors first.
