Alsyvox planars...prepare to sell your Magico's, YG's, Wilson's, Cessaro's. Maggie's, and all others!!

Thanks for your reply gwalt - but you indicated you based your decision on looking at the speakers and not hearing them. We have other configurations that although maybe 4 in total are far less imposing. The planar panels are only 19 in.
Wide the servo subs only 15 inches wide - not that much more than the Botecelli.
You are more than welcome to hear them.
We are located in Massapequa, NY.
We will be at Capital Audiofest as well in November.

Planarman,
I find your responses annoying! I think I made it very clear I am not interested in your speakers and I knew of them when I purchased the Alsyvoxes. Game over for me which was my sincere desire. What don't you understand about my response the first time? Please end your pursuit as you are wasting my time and advertising your annoying behavior on this forum. Geez you remind me of old girlfriend I luckily parted with year's ago as a teenager.
Thanks

Actually I find your responses annoying and your last response down right rude.
This is a free country I don’t think your name is Kim Jong Un.
Enjoy your overpriced speakers.

Wow, this is fun.

Time to return the topic of the thread to Trump and the Democrats in order to restore civility.

Carl, as our fearless leader Ron would say, NO POLITICS!

Good for you Planarman! In the end, I saw the speakers with the cone driver subs. and decided definitely they were not for me.
In addition, I look at the speakers while I am listening and did not care for the looks of the 4 panels nor felt I had the room. I will hear them someday and maybe be impressed but assure you I am very happy on the decision I made.
No need to respond further on the topic of your speakers here.
Thanks

I think you've got the right model based on what you are saying.

Enjoy. And be sure most
So, it's a choice btwn Boticellis and two-panel Caravaggios for an "easy" life?

Missed this but seen doing some late night revision.

Answer is 'reckon' at best guess.

Sorry for bugging. Single amp? No biamp?
I asked: single amp for the 4 stats affair. One channel per side is enough because the subs are in parallel to the main panels.
Btw. the main panels go down to 20 hz, so the sub panels are only "needed" in extremely huge rooms...

So, in the "real" world, we're talking one panel per side, the main consideration being vertical height w the Caravaggio at 2m high?

Although I am always pleased to read from manufacturers and dealers it would be great if they identify as such in their WBF signature.

I probably would like them is my guesstimate. But not as much as the Alsyvox.

That's pointless speculation... but hey. I just think planar magnetic bass done well is awesome in many respects.

Listening to a big OB now. No I am NOT comparing them to the GT in case I get jumped on!:)

I heard those open baffles in LA one time.

Of course they aren't ten times better. Maggies are OK value. Law of diminishing dooberies etc.

If you want the best planar magnetics on the planet, the Alsyvox are probably it.

They have faults, though. You need to be along way away for the bass from the bass panels to really blend with the 4 way mains. So even this speaker system has integration issues of sorts.

They may have longevity issues I simply don't know, but it is a risk.

It's a one man band not a big company etc.

All sorts of factors need to be considered I think much as I love the sound they produce.

When I retire I think my hobby will be trying to make a Diva or Boticelli sized pair of planar magnetics from scratch entirely by myself using my own ideas just to keep me from dying of boredom. I think it is quite doable. I really do.

I will not stop until they are outstanding. Then I'll drop dead with peace of mind;)

The one-man band part worries me . . . even if he can play all the instruments himself competently!

But every company has to start somewhere. I am sure I would love these speakers too.

But, Justin, I’m a little confused. Do you view these as planar magnetic panels or as ribbon panels?

I've heard $ 300K speakers sound "meh" at shows. Which is why I don't go to shows.

That doesn’t sound to me like how a scientist would normally think.

This is a free country, but this is not a free forum. Please tone down the snide comments.

Why? I rarely hear top notch sound at shows, which can have a number of reasons, starting with quality of AC power. If I'd want to properly hear a $ 300 K speaker I'd look elsewhere than at a show, which is mostly a gamble.

Kim Jong Un has a prettier cousin named Kim Kardashi-Un

I heard the Caravggios yesterday at Munich and thought they were incredible speakers. My panel speaker experience is pretty limited, but notwithstanding that, I haven't heard the same level of transparency, sound staging, stop-start dynamics, stress-free sound before.
If I were starting from scratch, I would seriously consider these, but also agree with the pricing comments - these seem expensive, especially for a start-up, and think he may struggle to gain traction.
