Alsyvox planars...prepare to sell your Magico's, YG's, Wilson's, Cessaro's. Maggie's, and all others!!

The B-Xs barely even get my Ayre warm (nor did the Vivids), but the Apogees turned them into little space heaters. :)
Which Apogees did you use before?

Hey Bill,

I sold my Gamut RS7i's and my friend in Chicago sold his Magico Q3's.....both of us own the Botticelli........someday will add the X crossovers.
Lots of choices out there but the Alsyvox checked all the boxes.;)

My new room will be 19 X 30 X9H. Amps. used are the T+A M10 monos. Latest versions are the M60's. Both are Hybrids which I find perfect on the ribbons and both are 1000 WPC into 4 Ohm.

Huge T+A fan

Hopefully they'll be able to reach lower price points with 'trickle down' technology

AlsyVox sound by the way very, very good with Aries Cerat Ianus Essentia - I heard them with that and was very enthusiastic.
Thats what I learned .
they sound great with many amps .
Aries cerat also makes interesting speakers .
will need to audition in person all for the next room .

Unfortunate the price is very high.
I would accept that becase it is very good speaker
but paying additional 36k ( europe) for the crossover ( must to have) is really crazy.
I wish I could say it is not a problem for me , but it is.
for 138 K ( boticelli x) you can have a lot of alternatives or a very good car .

Kris,

The Alsyvox only draws a few WPC at most any listening levels. I forgot to mention my amps. can be switched to pure Class A with power rating of 60WPC with a conversion to AB up to 250WPC. Depends on a lot of factors which setting I prefer. The new room will be like tuning all over again but I do not find these speakers hard to find a sweet spot. There are so many great amps. to marry these with. Endless depending on your needs and taste.

The Alsyvox prices are probably never going to come down in price. Not with the way the world is now.

Alsyvox are not priced for everyone. They are priced as a low volume, custom, hand made speaker that many people feel are good value for the performance that they deliver against a plethora of "alternatives" priced at the same price point OR 2X or 3X the price.

I personally have 20+ Alsyvox customers now that do not feel that the price is crazy. But everyone's equation is different. Totally understandable.

Botticelli X could be just priced at $138K with the external crossovers. At that price they will stand up against any alternative, especially for ribbon/panel lovers.

Alsyvox customers enjoy the fact that you can buy the Botticelli and then add the crossovers later, with the flip of a switch.

The pricing may seem crazy to some. But then would it not also be that every $150K priced speakers is crazy? Why single out Alsyvox at it's price point as being crazy.

If someone wants to buy an alternative or a car, that is their prerogative. We have no issue with that.

This honestly describes most specialist high end audio...Alsyvox is not that unique in this regard. As to the sound, I am a former owner of LOTs of planars and while the Alsyvox are arugably the best planars I have heard (although a properly sorted Apogee Grand can compete as could the ones being made down under) I would not say they beat everything at their price or above. I might be more tempted by a Diesis speaker for a lot less money and no less specialist.

Different strokes for different folks. Lot's of choices out there. I'm sure a pair of properly sorted Apogee grands will sound great. If that is one's inclination then that is what they should buy. If someone wants Diesis that's what they should buy.

I only offer Alsyvox and facilitate Alsyvox purchases to those that admire what Alsyvox has to offer and feels the price works for them. To all others I wish them well on their journey and purchases.

Edit- I did NOT say they beat everything at their price or above. What I said was that people that buy Alsyvox believe they are good value a their price point, even against more expensive speakers. Not saying they are better. I don't believe in better. Everything is different and it depends on so many variables as to what works for one person vs another.

This is a customers room. I’m told by other credible ears that it’s amazing.

It's quite good and it's a REALLY large space with only Tintoretto X. I know, I installed it:)

Botticelli look nice against my curtains too. OK, I am biased—Rhapsody West showroom just happens to look really cool with the Alsyvox. It wasn't planned in any way, but the vertical lines of the speakers blend perfectly with the folds in the curtains. Did I mention the sound DOES NOT SUCK!

Come on by—have a listen. Just a warning—it might start one of those audiophile itches that beg to be scratched.

So for example for 290 sqF dedicated closed room Trintoretto X will work better than Boticelli X?
or someone should look for Bigger brother in that space ?

If it was my personal room and I could swing the B's financially I would go with B's. If I could not swing the B's financially then T's or TX would be very good.
