Anyone up for a reel to reel "tape forum" at RMAF

We're on for Friday, 12:30!!!

See attached: http://audiofest.net/2012/seminars.php

Love to see any of you who could make it (INTRODUCTIONS OF COURSE) AND would ask any of you who might like to be "part of the fun" to get there say by 12:15. I'll re-read the postings and be ready to tackle (with your help) any of the areas already mentioned, like Flez007's. I'll also bring the slides from my original presentation in case they might help answer some newbie questions. See you there Chuck?

AND OF COURSE we can also discuss drinks / dinner / listening later!!!!

Cheers

Charles

Awesome! I'm looking forward to it.

Thanks to everyone who attended!

We had perhaps two dozen attendees; yes in a cramped (hospitality) room, BUT there WAS lunch - chips and water. Ki; Myles and John Brooks talked about their experiences, as did my friend Jessee Anderson an amateur recordist from San Antonio and Jonathan Horwich from Chicago, who is offering tape duplications from an extensive library of his own recordings.

After that, the discussion did focus around "newbie" questions which we hopefully answered successfully. Yes there was no hardware or software, but then that was not the purpose. Maybe next year if there is continued interest.

I am sorry I missed this one! glad to hear it was both useful and fun. maybe next time!

Hi Charlie,

This was an diverse group of experience and addiction. The room was stuffed. Still great to hang with other tapeheads.

Next year lets get sound involved. Using a tape machine playing master dubs in whichever room you have an affiliation with. Preferably with your King Cello preamp. Maybe even a Tape, LP and Digital comparison. Or the Stellavox compared to a Nagra or Studer. Tape deck FUN!!!

I agree. It was hard to get psyched about being stuffed into a small room with a bunch of old farts and no tape deck(s) to hear tapes being played back so people could understand what all the fuss is about.
