20140220_154655_resized.jpgI just received the new Avantgarde Uno Fino's for evaluation before they head off to Steve Marsh for review. I should have them for a little while, so if anyone wants to hear them they are welcome to pm me and set up a listening session.
So far, they sound very promising and they are brand-new.

They look awesome bill. I like how you have set up an angled wall of records by the front wall corners. So if you end up really liking them are you going to pick up a pair of Duo's ?

Not sure yet Chris. I have to get a feel for these first. Super efficient. My Bastanis are 100db sensitive and I am a few clicks lower on the volume control with these. Not harsh or bright at all with great jump factor. I might need to go up to the Duo's to get the bass I want in my large room though.

Very cool speakers Bill. I'd love to hear them. I think it would be worth the trip.

I like the all-American color scheme. I have to ask, what turntable is that? I've always wanted to hear a good vinyl/tube/horn system. Enjoy them while you have them.
Hi Peter-That is a new table from Italy that I am importing, called the Tourbillon from Extreme Audio-the same folks that make the Leonardo speakers that we showed with in NYC last spring. The platter is really dead and the oversized bearing is in a big oil bath. It is a very dynamic and involving sound without calling attention to itself. I felt that my 301/401 was dynamic but perhaps to an unnerving and "showy" degree.
