The way it worked for me was I had B&W 802D with a Classe CA2200 amp, that was perfectly fine, but wanted better sound. Listened to a bunch of amps and the Boulder 2060 was the one that was way better so I got one even though it cost twice what I had originally planned to spend. Indeed, it made the 802Ds sound dramatically better -- night and day difference. But now I had an end game amp that would drive any speaker. So when a pair of used Wilson Alexandria X2S2s about six months later were at the local dealer ... I already had the amp. So eventually I traded my 802Ds and got the speakers, too. The Sasha DAW are great speakers so you might be done with a Boulder 2160. Just that having an amp like that removes a barrier to moving up in speakers.
… the more I try the more I keep coming back to McIntosh… blame it on my personal taste in music or my listening tastes… are McIntosh neutral, no. Are they rich, full, organic, highly musical sounding and do they work great with almost every type of music and recording, yes. Thinking about demoing a few monos…
The problem with Sasha DAW is the same as my Sabrina, the low impedance around 85Hz, a little over 2 ohms. I sorted that out with an amplifier that eats 2 ohms for breakfast, the Gryphon Diablo 300.
That said, when I heard the Sasha DAW when they were first released they we used with a pair of Trilogy 995R in Class A mode and they sounded fabulous. Possibly one of the most glorious hifi set-ups I've heard and why I was happy to buy the Sabrina (a better size for my room and my wife chose them).
The dealer used the Trilogy, but also stocks McIntosh, Dartzeel and Solution.
All the suggestions here are good to excellent. I prefer tubes and Conrad-Johnson's best gear. But, we all hear differently and have different tastes in music and sound. Let your ears decide. And, try to avoid the I've got a bigger, more expensive amp than you syndrome. Unless it floats your boat. Your money, your ears.
Always intrigued by Viola Labs but have never heard and there is less write up and talk about them. How would you describe them vs FM, Robert Koda or Gryphon?

I think i can add another top notch SS brand Orpheus labs .
Phenomenal solid state sound .
Might be the smoothest natural solid state high freq i have heard to date .
The wilson was playing on matrixgear this year , the last years ARC Wadax ref set up was better .

Interesting…I know of Orpheus from their digital. They came out of Anagram so I believe that is excellent digital pedigree. Were they playing their latest Heritage Opus II SACD player by any chance? I have never heard Orpheus but remember reading a lot of good things about their digital designs.

If there was an end game to this thread I missed it. What did you end up with? I too have the DAWs and am looking at an amplifier upgrade. My inclination is towards Pass Labs mono blocks and am wondering if anyone has that pairing?

With Alexia 2 the XA60.8 leave little to be desired. Even at ear splitting volume their needles barely twitch so any thoughts about needing the 160.8 monos is extinguished.
