I have a 1060 and I have the opportunity to upgrade to the 2060. Has anyone had both and could give me an idea of the difference between the two? I have to ship the 2060 over for a demo at $750 so a heads up would be appreciated so I may gauge if it's worth a try.....

Driving Revel Salon 2's..

Thanks in advance guys.

I look forward to more experienced people's responses here, but in the meantime fwiw, the 2060s rank as one of my alltime favorite amps. Though i have not done a shootout, i had used the same system with different amps incl the 2060, and other than my Gryphons, i have not found anything that tempted me much as the mighty 2060. I am fortunate to have heard some remarkably great amps: D'Agostinos monos and stereo, Constellation Centaur, Tidal monos, Ypsilon Ref Monos, Zanden Ref Monos, VTL Siegfrieds, ARC Ref250s, Krell Evo Ones, Naim Statement, Kondo Gaku-Ons, TAD Ref monos,

I am told by a former Boulder dealer (and owner of 2060) that the 2060 is a serious cut above the already mighty 1060. Only your ears will discern if there is a difference that is worth it to you...but boy, having heard those, i put them in a [very] rarified class.

IIRC the 2060 runs in class A versus the 1060 AB , havent heard the 2060 on more then 1 occasion but at least thats a difference

I think the 2060 runs the first 70 watts in class A, where it's 17 watts for the 1060..

Thanks for your help guys......I'm definitely getting it over for a demo
